Dear Guest, I'm sorry, I had no idea since I haven't read that story. Any similarities have been coincidental, I really didn't know or I wouldn't have written it this way.

This story is very similar to The Impractical Heart by Pough, from the heart disease brought on by a virus to his collapsing behind his desk etc.

Why end it with a cliffhanger? Does Tony make it? Does he forgive Gibbs? How do the others react to The Myocarditis?

Gibbs and everybody else deserved that.

Because of where I'm from and where I work, I'm very much tempted to invite Tony over here in the far-east for his heart condition. I think we have the best teams and facilities in the region. And it would be cheaper than on the US plus less pest-people. He can always go back after recharging his body and soul.

Really, I don't know whether an effort from Gibbs and the gang (which I sustpect would still be half-assed and irreverant up to some level anyway) or a vast and long distance from all the toxics would be better at this point. I guess it depends on how you play this out.

I'm glad, though, that the old man finally learn to watch and isee/i what is unravelling in front of him, and what his arrogance and selfishness had done to what he himself admitted is dear to him. It's either change or deal with it from now onwards, dude.

Liked the story! I always thought DiNozzo's legendary patience got short shrift from the writers. He's the only one who regularly keeps his temper and shuts it down instead of lashing out like Gibbs and several of the others (most notably Abby) do. Kind of wish we'd been able to see the illness play itself out, but I understand about not wanting to go back to something and try to fix it once you've moved past it.
