The concept was good, but id suggest to concentrate more on how characters are affected next time
A lot of the things that would traumatize a person, or long-term actions that would cause long-term feelings of detachment/anger/sadness/insecurity was brushed over
Stories usually are fun to read, not because " interesting things happen" but because the thinngs that happen leave a short or lasting impact on the characters, and that human behaviour (which differs from person to person) and reaction is what makes good drama and an interesting story. You should keep that in mind
