Quarantine has me reading through every page of Castle fanfic. I've been trying to rectify my "lurking" habits and resolve to review in 2020! Not sure if I commented before but I know I have read this one before, and it's always good to revisit a favorite. Thanks for writing, great job!

Just ran across because you posted the prequel. It was nice and light. Made me smile after all the heavy, angsty ones posted recently. Really, really liked it.

There's just something about this story ... it's one of my faves. One that I like to come back to re-read every once in a while. I'd love so much for a sequel or follow-up or whatever. Just more.

I AM SO RIDICULOUSLY IN LOVE WITH THIS STORY OH MY GOSH!

I'm having so many feelings...

Okay! This entire fic both Castle and Beckett were so IN LOVE. You could just tell they both had feelings for one another that they couldn't address due to circumstance. And the way you wrote that was so painfully beautiful. I literally a few times was like "NOW KISS!"

So yes, I loved that she was so comfortable with him and let him come into the room while she was being stitched up. AND WHEN THEIR HANDS TOUCHED MY HEART EXPLODED WITH FEELS. Because... sweet hand gestures. It does things to me.

And then when they were telling Jamie about the dog. I've literally had conversations like this. Where my parents were like "Oh, the dog's four I think" and I'm like "No, he's three.". It happens! So the fact that you included it here is awesome because it just makes it more real and authentic.

And then when he brought her favourite food and drink after following her home. He knows her so well. I love it!

AND THE DOG'S REACTION TO SEEING HIM MAY BE MY FAVOURITE THING. Indigo was SO excited to see him and it was great because I could get a clear image in my mind because I have witnessed my dog have the exact same reaction!
Also bonus points for Indigo being an Australian Shepherd. Django's (my dog) an Aussie and so naturally I love the breed.

ANYWAY. The way the dog got so excited and was wiggling and licking Rick was so sweet and genuine and EXACTLY what a dog's reaction is supposed to be like. It's the best part of coming home.

And lol the dog hated Kate's murderous ex boyfriend. YEAH SHE DID!

Also the image of the dog drooling over the Chinese food was SO FAMILIAR to me. I deal with it on the daily. xD

OKAY, and the ending. OH! THIS BEAUTIFUL ENDING!

When they're having this conversation about how he asked to transfer back to New York, and she gets her hopes up, only to have them fall when he says they said no to transfer him. Gosh, my heart hurt... BUT THEN HE SAID HE WAS RETIRING AND I WAS APPLAUDING THIS FIC!

And him saying he loves her more than he loves his job like oh my shipper heart! I'M SO EMOTIONAL, CATHEY!

And I love how shocked she was that he actually quit his job for her... and HOW HAPPY SHE WAS. HOW HAPPY THEY WERE. (and how happy I was lmao)

AND THE ENDING WAS PERFECT! "Now are you gonna kiss me or what?" YES! KISS HER. MARRY HER. MAKE BABIES. DO ALL OF THE THINGS.

Also your writing was on point as usual. Your word flow and storytelling was perfect. I literally have no constructive criticism because this story was perfect. So here's another completely fangirly review for you and another story for me to add to my favourites.

I had not read this before, and I was so disappointed when I read that it was complete. It left me wanting more.
