I like this story because it’s not modern.

Hiccup could've just flown in and kidnapped Astrid and then brought her to the Isle. She and Hiccup would be happy and safe, and Soren would have a proper family. Astrid would meet Stormfly, and all the dragons from the arena escaped and went to their island.

i was reading some of the comments and it doesn't matter if its different it's a fanfiction you can do what you want. In my opinion this is a good book. So when you say stuff like f u just because it's diffrent just proves your an asshole who needs ti get a life instead of reading fanfic all day and saying its stupid because it's different

This story is interesting as it has some elements I like in it. However, one thing I can't stand is how weak and pathetic Astrid is in this. She's never been my favorite character and I don't even like her that much, but I've always respected and admired how strong and capable she is in the movies and TV show. In canon, she is extremely good at taking care of her self. She is strong willed and opinionated. And I've always admired that. To have her hiding behind Hiccup and being so passive with Snotlout is unbearable and very OC. It feels like a disservice to her character; she shouldn't be some damsel in distress.

The story is nice but it seems rushed and majority is unexplained. Even the back story is a bit vague.

I love all your stories, especially the ones where Hiccup leaves to become better and stronger then returns years later. However, I feel like this one is very rushed. I know this one is shorter so you couldn't fit as much in it, but the quick acceptance to Hiccup's lifestyle just isn't very realistic. I mean it goes against all the Vikings values an they are just fine with it? Seems a bit farfetched to me. Love all your other HTTYD stories though.

Im so annoyed, not at you but at myself... I am soooo weird when it comes to this, but to me toothless is the only night fury in existence, so any story that has more thatn him is kinda already ruined for me
