Well, I've been reading this fic for the past couple weeks, and I liked it a lot.

The idea of Ash being in a school isn't something easy to pull, given that Ash is the kind of guy who can't stand in the same place for long, and too Book Dumb for an actual academic environment. Though, given that most of the subjects he had to stufy for are related to a topic he loves made it more believable. The fact that you brought back most of XY's excellent cast helped.

Seeing the first two crushing loses of the IPL wasn't easy to digest. Like, I get why you did it, but maybe you should have soften the second defeat a bit. Also, I don't think that you should have done so many of the Courmarine matches, especially the one when they finally break their losing streak, offscreen. It kinda wasted most of the buildup you made with the first two defeats, all shown in their soul crushing glory.

As for the new Pokemon you gave the main cast, I liked most of them, others not so much. The best one was easily Serena's Absol, given how much time you spent buulding their relationship. Plus Absol is a Pokemon that fits Serena's team and gives it much needed variety. I also liked Dawn's Vivillon, is a Pokemon that suits her. That made me think that perhaps the anime should have given Serena a Vivillon as well, given it suits her as well. Maybe they didn't want to make her team too similar to May's.

I wasn't too keen on Turtwig at first, mostly because it appeared to be just a second Chespin, a character I'm not very fond of, but thankfully, Turtwig proved to be more than a mere gag character, and the fact that it was a comptent battler was a welcomed surprise. Its evolution into Grotle helped as well.

A Pokemon I'm not fond of, though, is Riolu. Everybody and their grandma gives Ash a goddamn Riolu, and it's going to get worse now that the anime gave him one. At first it seemed that you were going to focus on Ash's bond with Greninja, but the moment the damn Riolu was introduced, Greninja was pretty much pushed into the background and Riolu hogged the spotlight non-stop. Given that you had Ash win the Keystone, I'm hoping that it's one of his old Pokemon (other than Charizard) who gets to Mega Evolve like Heracross or Sceptile, but given that you had Korrina find a Lucarionite, I guess I should resign myself to the idea that Ash will have a Mega Lucario.

Anyway, great story. I'll start reading the second part soon.

id kill to have classes like these, only going to classes for max 4 hours a day, I wish. Then you get me, 8 hour day and tuesdays advanced maths class at 6 in the morning, have to wake up latest 6 every morning to be at school on time, not to mention extra murals. Theyve got it super lucky

Awesome story. Amourshipping forever

So I binged the whole thing and my major complaints are the lack of ash’s other companions and rivals, you claim he’s travelled all the regions yet Gary Oak doesn’t seem to exist even though an aspiring Pokémon researcher like him would fit in perfectly here! I understand the desire to tell your own stories with your own creatively free OCs but for us readers part of the fun in fan fictions is seeing how brilliant authors like you interpret and craft the story of beloved prexisting characters! Many of the roles filled by your OCs could have easily been in service of giving ash’s actual associates some well needed love! I’m about to start part 2 and I’m really hoping this glaring inconsistency is remidied because it’s the only complaint I have with this otherwise brilliant story!

Now I’m just gonna skip all the IPL cause you seem like the characters losing is the only way for them to progress

Nice chapter. This entire series has been truly great, & it's great to see it continuing with even better plot than the original one. The original part was amazing, but this chapter hints at a clearly more exciting story which will unfold. All the best!

I really thought you're gonna remake that episode, but the flow was really nice. Hoping for more story to come.

I've only been reading stuff on this site for a little over 6 months. But this is one story I always go back to. I'm glad to see you finish what you started, and extremely excited for part 2.

If I could make a suggestion, if possible, maybe make a short one or two shot of the holidays showing what Serena and the girls get up to, along with Ash and his training of riolu.
