AvidReader2236 chapter 1 . 11/4/2016
The summary really encapsulates the story as a whole. I too imagined George struggling with alcohol post-war.
finite7incantatum chapter 1 . 9/17/2016
Angelina is so strong, and I love how she makes George laugh here. He needed that :')
MandyinKC chapter 1 . 9/7/2016
I've always liked George and Angelina, but I feel like there are not enough /good/ stories for them. And this one is good. You strayed into the darkness of their relationship (the loss and the drinking), but with a definite streak of hope. You did a fantastic job showing George's range of emotions: anger in the pub, numbness tinged with regret when he thinks of his mother, and finally true regret when he forgets about Angelina's loss. Angelina is also wonderful. She's strong, tough, and funny. I loved that she made him laugh (I think that's my favorite thing with this couple). Finally, you ended with a glimmer of hope. Thank you!
LumosExpulso chapter 1 . 9/5/2016
Absolutely love this, especially the way you write Angelina! She's so perfect for him!
Guest chapter 1 . 9/5/2016
Very sad but touching. Also it looks like they just named their kids, Roxanne and Fred
reppad98 chapter 1 . 9/5/2016
Aww, yeah, George and Angelina are indeed cute. Poor George, though he's not as bad as I've read in some stories, but though in most stories Angelina also has a role in pulling him back. I guess that here, at this moment, George is already a little bit ready to do something, since he has been considering opening the joke shop again, he just needs a little push. Well, and a few more pushes to see his family again. He thinks that he's saving them the worry, but not seeing him is probably worse than seeing him in a state like he's now. But they'll all try to help, and George just wants to be left alone. I liked that Tom was trying to help George in his own way, too. Angelina and her sense of humor made me grin, with her saying that George was waiting on a train and her comment about how he smelled.
Thank you for writing this, it was a nice read, and keep writing! !
Evangeline Dartmouth chapter 1 . 9/5/2016
Beautiful- very emotional, definitely had me tearing up at parts
Teddy Lupin's partner in crime chapter 1 . 9/4/2016
Wow, you've been cranking out quite a few post-war fics lately! Actually you've been cranking out a lot of fics in general, which makes me very happy :) I especially loved this one though. Angelina's characterization was spot-on. I love her spirit and fire and the way she can get to George. Her dry humor also cracked me up. "baptized in Firewhiskey" hahahaha. George's pain was written so well. beautiful job!
Two Crossed Wands chapter 1 . 9/4/2016
This was absolutely perfect. A lovely look at Angelina giving George some perspective. He needed it, the poor man, I can't imagine what he was going through and I don't want to. His "Who the hell am I?" was devastating, and her response was right on the money: they WEREN'T the same person. I loved that she managed to make him laugh though... that is so important and it shows that his humorous side is still there. Hopefully, she'll bring more of it back as time goes on :) I'd love to see more on these two!
Gizzy's Mama chapter 1 . 9/4/2016
Another great story! I felt so bad for George and when he asked Angelina "who am I?" I thought I was going to bawl my head off. He's avoiding his family to try and ease their sorrow, not knowing he's making it worse. My heart hurt for them both. Then Angelina throws out the "you smell like a ghoul and a troll had a baby and baptized him in Firewhiskey" line. Only a woman destined to be George's soulmate could toss that out to him. That line is classic! You write George/Angelina very well...maybe you'll do more stories starring these two crack ups
Imirasa chapter 1 . 9/4/2016
This was truly magical, wonderfully written and so full of emotion. My heart broke for George and I love your characterisation of Angelina Johnson, so bold, hilarious, and able to cope with George's druken anger. On another note, nooooo Roxanne dies :( I had a feeling things wouldn't end well for her after reading Potterwatch, but this confirmed it. I think it's nice though (well not NICE, but you know what I mean) that it adds a level of understanding to Angelina. My favourite part of this is that she was able to make him laugh.
lily and james live on chapter 1 . 9/4/2016
I've said it before and I'll say it again - you always nail these two's relationship. This was so so beautiful. Ahh, George, you kill me. The part about him feeling that it was "easier this way" was so tragic. I loved the way you wrote Angelina's sense of humor... I think that any woman who marries George has to have one. :')
