And... sigh... Vol 3 finale is rough for everyone, but none as much as Ruby and Jaune. Jaune, he had always taken Pyrrha for granted, completely oblivious of her feelings. Only when she was ripped away from him by the hands of fate- and most of all seemingly all are due to His Faults and His own weaknesses! Ruby, she watched two of her friend murdered in front of her, one unwittingly by another friend, and was unable to do anything to prevent or stop it. She watched her sister return maimed, broken both physically and mentally, another friend ran away (to protect them, unknowingly to her), another was taken away by her Father, that man doesn't deserve to be called Dad. She watched them drown in their own sorrows and mourning (while having the issue) while putting up a brave face (and drinks), closing all of their doors from her. All of them wanted comfort, but NONE wanted others to be affected by themselves, all being too selfless, that it ended up as selfishness.

Damn it, that is A grade tearjerker materials...

This was nice.
I don't quite agree with the running idea 'Qrow is Ruby's father' bit that is going around but for drama's sake, it added a good touch on Tai's part.
But I think my favorate was Jaune/Ruby. Strictly plutonic and the recognition of Jaune's family and Ruby's troubles with her family. All nice

Man, I just keep coming back to this! This story is so well written, and so thorough. I am repeatedly impressed all knew again.

Ironically enough, this one shot is looking more and more canon as episodes of Volume 4 are released.

Dude. I just keep coming back and reading this over and over again. This is a masterwork in emotions and introspection. Extremely well done.

As if the series didn't end on a depressing enough note.
But over all a good story. I do like that you kept the Lancaster hints are kept platonic.
I will look up the song but I do have one note, you have them drink vodka and whiskey but as far as I know, a white russian is vodka or occasionally kahlua mixed with a milk product.
But again, a good story that feels like it fits in the series perfectly.

This is a hauntingly beautiful piece. I like the nod towards the "Qrow is Ruby's father" fantheory, and the overall theme of it. It's like a dull ache in the heart, one of bittersweet moments. Somehow, I can see this as being believable given how things went: maybe during the timeskip before RNJR left Patch, Jaune did take up drinking as a means of fending off the terrors and nightmares of that night.

Keep it up and never lose your flame :)

Another great story. Taiyang's part honestly made me the saddest. Even though I don't think Qrow is Ruby's dad I do think he had feelings for Summer.
