I really hope this continues to get updated someday, I really like the unique nature of this fic (not the standard Chief-in-Star-Wars bang-bang action fic, but the fact that it focuses on the mystery of both Cortana's and Master Chief's characters.) (Plus this story does a decent job at explaining away the plot of Halo 5 while bringing up a question I have had in the past - what stops an AI from changing their avatar and voice and impersonating another AI?)

The plot is thickening. It's a great story so far, very interesting read.

Greetings, here's hoping that this review finds you well, and still writing! I must say, I am glad I gave this fic a chance, for I rather enjoyed reading it! I like the plot, the story line, and the premise! I don't mind the unbeta'd version, and I have to say, any fic, no matter what, is going to have the characters OOC, because let's face it, if they were in character, and the plot, premise and story line wasn't changed, then your just retelling the original story, and that's not fan fiction, that's just out and out plagiarism! I am looking forward to the next chapters, and seeing how your going to bring Cortana and Chief together, either as a full fledged couple or as close as they can come, and also to seeing how your gonna have the Republic fight a two sided war, against the Insurrectionists, and the Covies...I am also curious as to whether you will bring any of the other Spartans or any ODST characters forward, and if Chief will be able to get any of his old toys back? I look forward to the updates when your able to get to them, once your muse decides to work on this story, in conjunction with any other stories, or ideas you may have, so when you update we who are following will have to wait patiently, and try to find other fics to help pass the time until such time as you are able to update this fic!

Your writing style is quite different from what I've encountered elsewhere on this website. You've done an excellent job at crafting a mystery with deep implications and with so much potential. I've really found myself drawn into the mystery and the suspense you've crafted like very few other stories. It's also a refreshing take on the Halo-Star Wars crossover, since all the quality stories are UNSC warfare.
I do wish you had expanded the time between Cortana's and John's appearances in order to ramp up the suspense as well as give us a sense of what a crippled Cortana would act like on her own. The discovery of the second ship and the return of John might have made better sense as the end of a longer first arc where Cortana settles in with Ashoka and the Jedi while discovering not all is as it seemed. It would make the story a far heavier lift, but there's just so much you can do with your premise...
The other critical issue is that AI is actually quite a notorious thing in the Star Wars canon. Droids are apparently wiped regularly to prevent them from gaining a sentient personality. Its like Mass Effect in a way, and that's not even taking into account the AI rebellion that was on the verge of taking over the Second Death Star before Antilles blew it up.
Still, I really enjoyed this tale so far, and I'm hopeful you'll come back around to expand this!

After thinking about your story for awhile you
perfectly lined up the two universes because in Star Wars they don't know exactly where the humans originated from. If the emp lasted hundreds of year befor they reached space travel then they could've developed the hyperdrive and there you have it several thousand years later the Star Wars universe even though there's some problems it could work. But I love the story so far you have me wondering how the Infinity went down. Please continue your story.
