love the story! i really like your style of writing. theres good flow between action and description so you always know whats happening and in what kind of enviroment but it never gets boring to read. the character are great too.

this all applies to the stark contrasts too. i like how you captured the relationship "between the sheets" its not overly explicit and it feels like when i was young. everything is kinda new between them and just the right amount of awkwardness in situations to make it seem like real life. keep this going! you are doing great job!

Now that was a twist at the end there! I wonder what other twists and turns will happen in this story. It is such a wonderful one and I loved the details with each characters personalities. You did extremely well with this chapter!

I wonder how much it would ruffle her fur to have someone remind Hood that she is, by all technicalities, still a weasel (and a proper common name is even short-tailed weasel)...best not to let Nick get ahold of that tidbit perhaps if he hasn't already, just for everyone's sanity?
I like the injection of Travis here; quite a few people seem to paint him as becoming a scientist, a view that I most certainly agree with. Ought to be interesting to see how he deals with this hot water he suddenly seems to have thrown perhaps not just himself but the whole company into with that last little teaser. Judy certainly won't be happy with this new info.

The curiosity eats at me...I'm like Judy, I want to know what Hood has planned. At least I can be sated by her being thrown by the odd relationships between the 3 mammals she's just pulled along with her. Also, I do hope we find out what it is Nick's hiding in his basement; clearly it's of severe importance if he's been a mammal of interest, and I think I recall it having something to do with the Conifer? Something with such implications certainly could have a serious impact elsewhere in the future, whether Nick denies it or not.
