Reviews for The Strange Ship

Nice
Halo Star Wars X-over fan chapter 1 . 4/19/2019
As great as I’m enjoying this story it has a ton of problems regarding both the speed and power of MACs from the UNSC along with both ship and ground Mass Effect weapons.

First off the default or lowest power round a UNSC frigate can fire is 64.5315 Kilotons of TNT secondly the lowest speed for a MAC round is also 50km per second not 30km which you put in the earlier chapters. However this was prewar so as many people assume it has to be severely upgraded from that since meeting the Covenant.

Now Mass effect however the absolute highest dreadnoughts can output is 38.720 kilotons of TNT for their MACs. However if I’m wrong then it’s amongst the highest because it belongs to one of the 4 main species dreadnoughts. Then there is Mass effect group weapons, it’s been estimated due to the ratio of rounds and the size of the thermal clips that the projectile is around 1/2 of a gram and about the size of a piece of sand. Which means essentially in this chapter where you had a marine injured and you mentioned about bullet fragments, what fragments? As something the size of a grain of sand can’t really fragment.

Honestly people say all these things about handheld mass effect weapons however in reality if you shoot anything like for example a flood combat form, it’ll be as effective as a sniper round... meaning not effect at all because it just goes right through without really damaging anything. Then there’s also the speed factor of the round which is around 900,000 meters per second or something according to experts, which is called hypersonic. Because of that it would cause any normal round to start to disintegrate due to friction of air. But it’s a grain of sand so the most it would do is disappear. At least realistically.

Then there’s Halo weapons which is way more effective, not to mention the chemical weapons energy despite what you said are massively leagues above anything we have now or what the “lizards” have since I forgot how to spell their name.

There’s tons of other stuff as well but I’m limited to time so I got to go right now.

Bloody hell, please continue this story. I'm really looking forward to it
Guest chapter 7 . 2/16/2019
My thoughts on the Turians? Every step into the territories of man will be tolled in their blood and corpses. In science friction I am very for humanity as a sovereign species that is more or less secluded because us as a client race or integrated into an alien society threatens our identity. In history every nation tries to gain a hand over even their allies, so humanity should remain isolationist.

Pteaset chapter 3 . 1/23/2019
Another wonderful chapter maybe I missed it is the Spartans in the mass affect universe only the one ship or is it the entire mass affect halo universe that’s a crossover or just the ship
Pteaset chapter 2 . 1/23/2019
Another wonderful chapter very good story I do feel like perhaps there should’ve been a paragraph or a senates talking about having to elude the STG in order to open the relay
Pteaset chapter 1 . 1/22/2019

UniqueDream chapter 3 . 1/8/2019
Either I missed the whole interview or the interview is not in this chapter little bit confused since I didn’t see any interaction between the captain and the admiral except for the hanger and then the observation deck? Is that right?
Azaira chapter 6 . 12/6/2018
Like, love, the story.
Your AN are quite lengthy though. Not really a bad thing, just odd.
Axccel chapter 4 . 11/11/2018
"And they have never rebelled?"
The best answer would be "We never thought to program them with the ability to rebel." and let that sit on the Quarians for a bit. It would have been funny to see their reactions. I notice Cole did not explain Dumb AI.

The Everest likely has flash cloning facilities for missing limbs, organs, blood, etc. like many other ships. Flash cloning humans doesn't work out, but flash cloning genetically altered sperm and eggs? That's doable and a way to avert extinction and even produce Spartans from scratch to get a little revenge.
Axccel chapter 9 . 11/11/2018
Ooooh, I just noticed its the council calendar that has the extra century or so. I thought it was moving around the timeline of the story. Since the date is so similar to the Halo time period.

Your author's note got me wondering. Is space truly frictionless? There are so many particles in it that a large enough object might actually experience drag. Heck, outside a solar system, particle density is massive (for space).

A UNSC shotguns an one-shot a shielded and armored Elite and you're telling me that the barriers and the armor of a Turian are both superior to the combined strength of Sangheili shields, armor, and durable physiology? Nope.
