This is amazing, I'm kinda tearing up reading it. I really do feel sorry for Alfred and at times absolutely hate him. I can't help it, I'm Puerto Rican and grew up in the United States. There sides of me that constantly fight, with the beliefs of this nation but also wants to defend against others. I don't if this a thing of Americans but we just hate ourselves more than anyone else, but we also say fuck you to anyone on the outside looking in. It's just I really liked this fic, especially with everything going on and what just happened in June or July in Brooklyn. Will most likely never truly understand a nation pain until your in it. I love that even though he hates those parts of himself, he still hopes for better. This fic kinda reminds of We all fall down, and song that I saw. I'll put the links if you ever want to read it or hear it. Though premises are different but similar. This fic really was amazing sorry for all my babble.

As alway with your stories this was excellent, very very well written and extremely relevant of course. Characterisation is really good too. I think writing it in first person was a good call; good first person writing can be hard to pull off but when done right it can be far more effective than third person would be - and you've definitely done it right. Thank you for writing this.
