when hiccup talks with eret it is good that hiccup addresses eret's concerns about the dragons who were once under the control of drago recognizing him and being angry with him. then it is good that eret accepts hiccup's offer as a dragon wrangler and that selena and the other night furies say goodbye to hiccup and toothless. also unlike in how to train your dragon 2 astrid takes on the role as the chief while hiccup becomes an alpha along with toothless. also at the end hiccup gives the same speech that he gives in the movie just in the great hall.

this chapter is completely different from the movie as in this story hiccup and toothless free the dragons under drago's control which does happen in the movie but unlike the movie the freed dragons are brought to berk after stopping by the way. Hiccup and toothless do a good job of addressing the new dragons by saying that they dont need to remove their armour considering that these new dragons are not going to be quick to trust a human alpha considering their experience with drago's control.

This chapter initially follows the same structure of how to train your dragon 2 with hiccup and toothless becoming alphas. But the difference is eret chooses sky fire because stoick does not die in this story, and hiccup doubts his ability to become the alpha and talks with the king about it. also hiccup becomes the alpha along with toothless unlike in the movie where he becomes the chief. Also hiccup does a good job addressing the remants of drago's army, and taking care of the ships with the dragons being freed. And we find out in this chapter that the heart bind works with human languages too.

this chapter plays out fairly similiar to the film with stoick and drago battling and the king and the other bewildrebeast fighting. but the difference is that hiccup personally kills drago because he thought drago was going to kill toothless and this causes beast to stop attacking. while he does still try to encase hiccup in ice hiccup realizes that beast was actually the victim and that drago was the true villain. He realizes that beast was controlled by drago which will end up being very much a good thing.

this chapter generally follows the structure of the end of how to train your dragon 2 but the difference is hiccup and toothless are freed from the ship and most importantly the mykr pack, the rest of berk, and the beserkers with dagur, heather, windshear, sleuther, and shattermaster come to the aid of the kings pack.

while this story generally follows the structure of how to train your dragon 2 this chapter was different. It was suspenseful seeing astrid, stoick, valka, eret and the other riders sneak around while evading the other hunters and fortunately ultimately all the riders find their dragons. it is good that toothless still resits beast and with hiccups help finally overcomes beasts will for good. also it is good that the dragon distracts drago so eret and astrid dont get caught.

this chapter also is almost the same as in the movie with the riders including astrid going to dragos lair and astrid trying to threaten drago. The difference is in this story hiccup valka and stoick are at dragos lair as well, astrid realises sooner than in the movie that drago has a bewilderbeast to control other dragons, and drago's bewilderbeast tries to mind control toothless in drago's lair not at the end. Also while toothless ultimately is not able to resist due to his heart bind with hiccup he is able to hold out for longer and fortunately right when toothless cant resist any longer eret knocks him out.

This chapter is very similiar to the movie with astrid going to find ruffnut and tuffnut, snotlout and fishlegs then them going to dragos lair by kidnapping eret. Also hiccup catches up with his mom and stoick and gobber figure out where hiccup and toothless are. Then stoick discovers valka is still alive and they sing their song. The differences are that toothless accepts valka as his mom, hiccup tries using cloud jumpers saliva for his sword, and astrid is not immediately with the other riders

At the beginning it is heartwarming how hiccup and toothless sleep. Then it is good that hiccup informs valka about what happened while she was away including the events of the first film and the heart bind. Also it is good that valka tells hiccup she will give him pointers about the bigger world and tells cloudjumper to take care of them while she is gone. Also valka talks with Astrid about the heart bind and Astrid leaves to find the others.

We see that the other riders don't find anything but when hiccup finds the dragon nest and valka the difference is Astrid is with him and because hiccup think speaks hiccup and Astrid are put back on their dragons. But hiccup has about the same reaction although the difference is that hiccup ends up forgiving valka with Astrid and toothless's encouragement. Also hiccup Astrid and toothless meet the king.

We see at the beginning that when hiccup is threatened even in the slightest toothless is immediately wary. Also toothless's feelings for Selena are clear. Also when hiccup and Astrid go to the boat where eret and the others are the difference is that stoick and gobber don't come in to interrupt also hiccup has stormfly play fetch and he does a better job with trying to change erets mind.

it is good that the dragons make it clear to hiccup that all the other dragons have been warned about drago and that the dragons agree to contribute in every way to the war. also berk is preparing and it is good that selena comes with sybills prophecy. and it is good that ultimately stoick does give hiccup permission to try and find this dragon thief.

this chapter is almost the same as in how to train your dragon 2 with hiccup and astrid coming back to berk and warning stoick about drago bulvist. but there is a major difference which is that hiccup does not runaway like he does in the movie and instead of locking berk down stoick called a war council where they debate what to do and stoick tells the story of his encounter with drago unlike in the movie where stoick tells hiccup this on the boat. when hiccup and stoick have their disagreement i think stoicks position is understandable but ultimately hiccup is right and in hindsight we know that hiccup will go to find the dragon thief who is his mom.

this chapter is almost exactly the same as the flying sequence at the beginning of how to train your dragon 2. i love the flying sequence of how to train your dragon 2 as it really shows how much hiccup has the soul of a dragon. the difference is that hiccup and toothless can think speak and hiccup has a better relationship with his dad as in this story hiccup is not running away from his dad. also we see hiccup and astrid meeting eret which is pretty much exactly the same as in the movie.
