It wasn't the best but it was enough to let me walk away with a smile. the game all around was superb.I can't brush that aside just cause the last few chapters felt rushed. But I'm guessing that they wanted to keep you in Noct's POV for as much as possible even if it wasn't handled perfectly

Dude, did I cry when Luna died. I was hoping till the last second that she will come back somehow, that she isn't dead but she never came. And then the ending, where Noctis says his farewell to his friends took my heart too. At least we saw the wedding in the end.

I don't know what Sinserta is talking about. The end of this game, in spite of its complexities story wise, was a true tear jerker, and not because of the story, but because of the characters. I adore the brotherhood: Noctis, Prompto, Ignis, and Gladiolus. I love their chemistry, I love their development, I love them individual as much as when they're together. You play the game and you see just how close they are to each other, you experience their individual trials and struggles and what they have to do to overcome it and come back stronger. So by the ending, I was shedding a waterfalls worth of tears, because where the story arguably lacks the characters shine blindingly. I'm getting teary eyed just thinking about them, and I cried all over again just reading this story.

If you focus too much on the story, you'll miss out on the true focus, which are the characters, whether main, supportive, or antagonistic. Tabata's talent from what I've seen is characterization, as evidenced beforehand in Crisis Core, and I wholeheartedly commend him for that. For me personally if I had to choose a great story or great characters, while I prefer both hand-in-hand, I'll choose characters in a heartbeat, because naturally it's the characters who drives the story, and without them there's no point in a story to happen. This game represented great, 3-dimensional, memorable characters, and for that I say it was worth the ten-year wait.

So yes, overall, the story has issues, but at least it's good, borderline decent, and it's nothing unfamiliar in the Final Fantasy franchise or any franchise in general. People found issues in FFVII, FFX, and ESPECIALLY the FFXIII trilogy. But really, it's the characters we remember first, and I'm always going to look back and think of Noctis, Luna, and all the others very fondly. It's because of them I feel the Final Fantasy series is secured once more, and I'm relieved for that.

I apologize for the long review, but I tend to be lengthy with something I feel strongly about, and this game definitely has an overload of feels through a single character alone. It gripped my heart to the bittersweet end, and I bear no regrets.

I was so siked thinking this would be the ff7 of ps4. Ya know, a game that completely one ups everything in the current console. But... I was left empty and confused. Sure, the open world is fun, but, even with the crisis core director on the team of this... it doesn't come anywhere close to the great, tear jerking story I was expecting.

Like legit wtf just happened after Altissia!? The Emperor, Ravus, Cor, that general that escaped from them, that other old guy next to Rafus in the cutscene, Reana and how her story was so rushed? Like she just fought with them not long ago and suddenly she is on the good side? What? You high? And why was Gladious not questioning her presence at all? He was not there when Areana was helping them find the mythril ore so wtf?

I'm just so disappointed rn _ its killing me. Ive been so excited for this game and have been playing for 2 days but like...that ending and the story...it was so much potential that the creators wasted :/ its sad.

I liked this interpretation I honestly haven't beaten the game yet but I spoiled myself on the ending early, simply because I felt I needed to brace myself for the deaths. so sad personally I was hoping it would end with them getting married and rebuilding Insomnia but no square enix gave us another angst filled ending

Oddly enough, while I liked the ending of the game, I just wished it could have been a little happier and show what's become of everyone in the world. This was an interesting interpretation, and I wish you would continue it.
