Why does this feel funny and sad, at the same time, to me?

read this back in 2019 not long after it had finished, binged through it in two days, stayed up later than i should have reading it. Didn't leave a review then, leaving one now. This story was so meaningful and well written that i'm not joking when i say it might be one of my favourite things i've read on this website. I sincerely hope i get to see more work from you because if this is a first attempt at fanfiction, then i can only imagine what great work you could produce after this. Even if you don't produce more work after this, well then i still thank you for having written Great Teacher OniGuzma, because it truly has been a delight to read from beginning til end.

Aah! This was amazing! I read it from start to finish. This was one of the best fanfics I have read. You are good at writing and you did such a good job at portray canon characters. At the end, I loved all the students too! They were so cute and funny!

I just found this because I was looking for a Guzma fanfic and I love this! You write Guzma really well and all the students are pretty memorable too. It's quite wholesome to see how good of a teacher Guzma is. He seems to have an understanding of what they are all going through and wants to see them grow.

God damn, this is good. There's so much that really sells Guzma as a character. You've really done a good job making everyone seem like actual people you're talking about instead of just characters in a story.

Wow, the end's here already? That flew by.

Just by looking at the last few chapters, you can really tell Guzma turned his life around. He teaches a battle class, he dissolved Team Skull for good, and he might have a relationship in the works with Plumeria.

Ah, the Buginium-Z he said he was going to pass out to the class at the end of the year! I remember him saying he was going to do that.

This was a wild ride, as to be expected with 'Destruction in its human form' Guzma at the wheel. Guzma is one of my favorite Pokemon characters to come out of the 7th gen. Thank you for giving him such a great story!

Welp, it ended... man such a bittersweet moment. At least it ended in a sweet note, I also really liked the originality of the concept of the story, as well as the OCs. However I would have liked more character examination and development of some OCs that didn't really get the spotlight... like you focused more for half of them but the other ones felt a little shallow, or at least that's the feeling I got, since when I saw the title I thought it would be more like Great Teacher Onizuka where there were troubled youth and -in the manga at least- the life and psychology of the kids were explored individually. I understand, though, that this story would be very long with many arcs in that case and in the end I got the feeling that you really wanted to finish this, since you had a big hiatus from it, so again it is an understandable situation. Regardless, this was a fun ride and I meant it when I said that this is one of the very few great stories on Guzma in ffnet, this was absolutely awesome and original. In conclusion, I hope that you will write a story on Guzma again in the future, because he really is an interesting character that doesn't really get explored on the level that you did in this story and I hope that you keep on writing marvelous stories. Bye~~

A beautiful story. Guzma is my favorite character from Alola, and to read such an endearing story about personal redemption, fills me with inspiration and joy, cheesy as that sounds.

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for this story yet. I started reading it so long ago and seeing you pick it back up was so exciting. When I first read it I expected a short silly story about Guzma dealing with kids. But the way you wrote each character, original and canon, is amazing. And the way you handled the story and backgrounds I just get so excited for every chapter and cheer for the characters success. I can’t wait for the finale, I know whatever you decide to make it, it’ll feel complete.
