Aw so sweet of Jack to be there for Mac. Even though it's just wisdom if course Jack would help.

Love your story - already read it twice! I absolutely can see Jack walking a fine line between teasing Mac and taking wonderful care of him. You captured it perfectly.

Oh, Mac...just let Jack look after you, damn it.

But seriously, this is great- from Jack hoping to tease Mac on painkillers, but being really overprotective, to him carrying around paperclips for Mac, and Mac refusing to miss school/work (I totally sympathize; I had my wisdom teeth removal scheduled around school/uni). And of course, the requisite Mac whump- having wisdom teeth out sucks!

I think anyone who has had their wisdom teeth taken out can totally relate to this story. Jack was right, Mac was totally pouting. Loved that part. Your notes at the end cracked me up. That was so sweet! So true to character for both of them and I can soooo see Jack just knowing what Mac needs. I love the way Jack's accent gets worse when he's tired...and how Mac gets snarky when he's in pain but never mean. Loved when Mac was having trouble falling asleep and Jack asked if he was fighting it...survival training would mess with his brain and prevent him from giving in to sleep. I had never thought of that-thanks for that insight! I love how you write these guys- just can't get enough! Thank you so much for sharing!
