Hmm, not bad at all! Have you considered adding Dr. Marcus as Jim's love interest? They seem like the sort to tease and poke fun at each other (think Rick Castle/Kate Beckett) while still remaining devoted to their careers. Besides, imagining their possible future with their son David is pretty damn cute. Isn't Carol a good friend of Christine's?

I think you write the interactions between characters really well. I enjoy a little friendly ribbing between girls. :) I am curious about the holodeck and seeing what the fledgling theology must look like.

I think you captured the difficulty of exes and new realtionships pretty well. So many people make Bones' ex-wife a complete wench, but like all characters, Dr. McCoy has his flaws. Your characters feel very dynamic, which is refreshing. :)
