This was wonderful! I mean, sad, obviously, but so well done that it was easy to picture and feel a part of. Great job and the attention to detail and showing, rather than telling the high-running emotions inherent in such a situation.

Hi! I really enjoy thia type of stories but this one seem familiar. There's an ols fic called A Life Redirected and have the same storyline: Sam gets brain damaged after almost drowning.

Poor Sammy! I'm glad John stopped hunting and stayed there for his boys though!
