There really wasn't much of a point to including Hermione in this story was there? Although to be honest there wasn't really much of a point to anyone being in her position in this story at all.

This is really just a very hands off rehash of the MCU, with a touch of angst and relationship drama added in. Hermione hasn't really brought anything to the table, and the fact that she is magical has really had almost no impact at all compared to if she was just a random OC.
Wildcatatheart chapter 32 . 7/9
ugh... story complete? not gonna continue on through InfinityEnd Game?

Shinobi Gatana chapter 18 . 6/22
I didn't want to fall in love with this story as I really, really hate angst filled stories... Dang you! This story is soo good.
Zane Wolfe chapter 32 . 6/1
Having finished this story there is a single word I find best describes it. Disappointing. The choice to strictly adhere to the MCU canon for the films with zero real changes was, in my opinion, a complete mistake that ruins the otherwise interesting concept. While the writing is acceptable the and the characterizations ok, the fact that nothing is really allowed to change, outside of Tony & Hermione's relationship being a thing that exists, drags both of these things down.

It's both understandable, and perfectly acceptable, that the Hermione of this story be vastly different than the one from JKR's work. The loss of Ron and their child would have a profound effect on her and her being unchanged by such events would utterly break any suspension of disbelief. However she should still be 'The Brightest Witch Of Her Generation' and yet that aspect of her doesn't not seem to, and indeed can not, exist at all within this story. And that's because of the weight of the MCU canon dragging her down. While I expected her impact to the story of Iron Man 3 to be limited, as she and Tony part ways before she can do much beyond providing him the emotional support he was otherwise lacking, her mere presence, and that of magic, should have left more than merely superficial ripples for the rest of MCU. Yes her own scars, the mental and emotional ones, meant she didn't want to be 'in the field' like the other Avengers, but magic as a tool used to support the rest had the potential to divert the entire course of Winter Soldier, possibly even preventing Age of Ultron and Civil War from happening at all. Especially when the person(s) providing that support are Hermione Weasley and her extended family.

A perfect example of this is the final confrontation in Civil War. Tony brought Harry with him as backup. HARRY POTTER, one of the most powerful wizards in Britain (as he was canonically equal to adult Tom Riddle when Harry was only 17), Master of Death, wielder of the Hallows. Harry could have walked utterly undetectable next to Tony, and when things went south taken out Steve and Bucky with a flick of a wand and a few words before either were even aware there was another person with them at all. And yet because the MCU canon had to be upheld Harry AND Tony are forced to hold the Idiot Ball despite the fact that neither of them are stupid. Tony KNOWS what Harry can do by this point. He's been studying the history of Magical Britain and as family there isn't any reason that anyone would have left out things like Harry's Invisibility Cloak or the Elder wand. And Harry, Head Auror of Magical Britain now for years by this point (even if he'd only gotten that title during the first year Tony & Hermione meet) plus his previous experiences growing up, would know that splitting up when dealing with two Super Soldiers, a duo who are, even compared to magic users, two of the most dangerous people in the world, IS A TERRIBLE PLAN. And there isn't even a reason to hide magic from Steve or Bucky since Steve is already aware that Hermione is a witch. As for Helmut Zemo, as a non-magical he could easily be obliviated. T'Challa is a head of state. Using the British example, the Prime Minister IS IN THE KNOW. Thusly there is no reason for Harry not to use his powers other than "Must maintain MCU canon above all else".

And that example is only minor one. There are numerous others (Hermione knows how dangerous mind magics can be, yet doesn't seem to try and create a way to defend Tony or the Avengers against it despite knowing there is an enemy mind mage?!) and each time MCU canon was forcibly preserved at the expense of both the plot and the characters (Hermione loses her baby and goes into a coma due to the attack on the Accords signing? Reasonable. Bombs are dangerous things even to a full fledged witch. Harry Potter at the airport battle and yet nothing changes? He's the Head Auror going up a KNOWN 'Dark Witch', Wanda, and could easily argue she risks exposing magic. He could have easily brought a SQUAD or more and suddenly Team Cap is outnumbered and outgunned.) it was both jarring and saddening. You dropped a hell of a BOULDER onto the MCU canon (Magic being real and Tony having a genius witch as a girlfriend) and yet clung to "MCU Canon is Immutable" to the point that events had to be extremely contrived/everyone involved had to be a complete idiot for that to remain true.

This story had a hell of a lot of potential, and parts of this story showed that you have the skills as a writer to live up to said potential, yet the refusal to allow change beyond "Here is Hermione and she and Tony are going to end up fucking" meant neither this story's, nor your own, potential could really be realized.

SapphireKageKyuura chapter 30 . 4/21
Hydra fucking bastards! Hermione didn't deserve to lose another baby. This was her second chance at happiness and you had to go blow up a building pretending to be the winter soldier. You assholes piss me off. If I was a witch I'd curse you all to go through an eternity of pain and misery that goes in a never ending cycle!
SapphireKageKyuura chapter 5 . 4/20
I just started reading this and when I got to this chapter I honestly was holding hope that Tony would just forget Pepper. I like Pepper I really do, but I also don't like her. She doesn't listen to Tony and makes it out as if his issues would just work itself out if he talked to her or someone professional. Hermione was the first woman to actually listen to him and not throw herself at him like a common whore the moment she saw him.
