Hellooo! Haha you know, something similar happened to me a few days ago... When I stepped out of the bus in my way home, accidentally dropped an earring I'm the middle of the street but I didn't notice it was missing until I got home , so I retraced all my way back until I found it but of course, the cars have drove over it (sorry if my grammar is awful, don't know how to say it correctly xD) and it was like folded xD but that earring was special because my boyfriend gave it to me in a time we were going through a difficult time :') thanks for the story! It made me remember haha, see you around I hope :D
