Poor Neal! He truly believed he needed to be beat. So sad. It's good that Peter has a glimpse of Neal's early childhood, he has no idea how Neal was raised and how tough life may have been for him. I hope Neal doesn't remember though, he wouldn't want Peter to know. This was good, thanks for writing.

Okay, this was an amazing episode (loopy Neal was really funny, all-star work), but I loved your oneshot and take on drugged Neal! Them having a fatherly-son bond is always a favorite of mine, even though there's only three canon years between them (which is weird because the actors are a decade apart in age). And you wrote the angsty part of Neal's actual father smoothly, it ran well with the story. Anyway, great job!

Ithinkdrugged Neal in that scene is one of my favorite ever right along side I AM the list I love the way Neal just oozed through Prter's arms I like the clip of Matt practicing sounding drunk while singing andrealizing they are taping him especially knowing what a good singer he is he did a great job of being of key and much too loud I lovedEl coming to talk to him and her reaction when she thought he would hit Neal her telling him yes m am is the answer to her suggestion what an SOB Neal's dad was seems to be arunning theme in fan fiction

I have to say that I'm guilty of liking CP father/son fics for these two, but I stay away from the stories where Peter uses a belt (I find that implement to be particularly/unfairly harsh)...

And so, I love how gentle and caring you made Peter here - he really is perfect Dad material, isn't he? And it was adorable how Neal openly stated it that way, acknowledging that he sees Peter in that familial light and that he takes comfort from his role as 'son' too :)

This story is utterly heart-warming, and after so much angst on the show (especially later on), I'm glad for a story like yours, which instantly makes me smile.
