VladImpaler chapter 1 . 3/22
Wow I never thought I would see something ackeen to a self-insert in Overlord fandom. Self-insert meaning a person who has watched the sourcematerial and thus knows everything about the fictional world.

OK, I don't have a new chapter ready to post yet, but I'd like to give a reply to MadDan90 on some points.

First, while Lancel's commander class does affect others, in this specific instance, there are no safe places left in the Draconic Kingdom that the refugees know of, so they just want to stay by someone who can potentially defend them. In their minds, its a little safer than the alternatives.

Second, Draudillion has no idea how strong the forces under Satoshi are. I don't think it was made clear, but from her perspective Satoshi is asking to borrow some of her forces, not the other way around. This is a case of miscommunication, as Satoshi only asked to coordinate their forces, but things got misinterpreted. Also, Satoshi has no way to politely ask Draudillion to change her form at this point and doesn't want to reveal how much he knows.

Third, the doppelganger proposal was basically to infiltrate the noble houses by introducing new servants to gain more intel, not replace the nobles themselves. I will say that I did intend Satoshi to be a little over-reliant on the shadows in this story for intel purposes, so he doesn't realize the fact that the doppelgangers can interact with the servants could give him better information. At this point in the story, Satoshi wants to avoid killing people and won't attack one of the nobles unless doing so can be justified in his mind. Usually this means that they can't be handled by other means.

One thing to remember is that the audience has a semi-omniscient view of things in stories. The characters in stories all have their own strengths, weaknesses, and biases. They also may not know what we think they know and even if they do, their thought process might be different then ours.

Of course, sometimes the author does make a mistake in the story. I know I've made a few.

Mad-Dan90 chapter 20 . 3/25/2019
Oh, hey! I've been wondering when this one would get updated! Needless to say, I am one happy reader, so let's get into it! :D

Well, huh. I was expecting the inevitable liberation of the first city to be somewhat anti-climactic, but damn! Those beastmen got wrecked! Hah! Although, the explanations given were sensible and well done, so the reasons left natural. In other words, sucks to be them. Hehe. :)

Although, I have to say that there were a few things about this updated that I was rather disappointed with. First, the meeting with Draudillon Oriculus. That was a waste of potential. Why? Because she would IMMEDIATELY seize on the opportunity to have her people helped out by a force ready, willing, and able to expel the beastman hordes. The Draudillon Oriculus felt out of character, rushed, and frankly disappointing, and the reason given was weak. Especially since Satoshi should be aware that Draudillon HATES being in child form, and would relish being able to talk to him normally. Something to correct next chapter.

Second flaw? The way that the liberation of the city was handled. Again, not enough focus and detail given to the people, what they had suffered, and the condition of the city itself. Satoshi should have been greeted with a scene that would have turned his stomach. Perhaps the NPCs manipulated things to where their master wouldn't have to witness gruesome sights, but that should have been at least expounded upon. Something else to correct for next time.

I will say that the revelation of the library was freaking hilarious! Hah! That was a nice surprise that brought a smile to my face. More moments for levity like that are a must. Although I must say that some of Satoshi's decisions had left me puzzled, and shows that he's rather short-sighted. Example? Having doppelgangers infiltrate nobles families would not only allow him to spy more effectively, but solve the problem of improving people's lives without having to take over the world. Yeeesh. That man's fatigue must be getting to him, because that was a dumb move on his part. :(

All in all, while the chapter was enjoyable, it was rather disappointing too, and I hope that the next one comes out better. This is still one of my favorite fanfic serious, and I am eager to see its continuation. Just hope that certain things are handled better. Until then, this one gets 7/10.

Until next time! :D

HOLY SH*T! HOW LONG IS IT BEEN SINCE I'VE SEEN THIS STORY GET UPDATED?! HALLELUJAH! O.O

Ahem! Sorry about that. I got a little overexcited there. ':P
Anywho, though this chapter was brief, it was still interesting to see Satoshi's forces save that helpless village. Why? Because it's showing just how far he is spreading his forces out now. Although the beginning portion was a bit confusing at first, it made sense to establish the people of that little village before getting to the arrival of the golem knights. Of it was incredibly surprising that the villagers decided to go with him, instead of evacuating to the next nearest and safest location. The effect of Lancel's command classes no doubt.

Although I have to say that Lancel is a bit of an arse. Still, his instructions from Satoshi are curiously similar to that of Ainz's to Cocytus' back in the lizardman arc. Safe to to say where Satoshi got that idea from. ;)

All in all, though the chapter was brief, it was a genuine treat to see this story return, and I'm hoping that it returns again without another extremely long wait. Until then, this chapter gets an 8/10 from me. :)

Until next time! :D
