Oh my what an absolutely wonderful little story. I love the idea that they has colorful kites flying on their boat. (I love that Gimili and Legolas had the audacity to make their own boat to ship to the undying lands and that Gimili spends his time carving beautiful things on it.) I love how you portrayed the friendship between the two. So very heartwarming. :)

That was a pleasant voyage for Legolas and Gimli. Good writing.
