Professor Pasta chapter 1 . 8/3/2017
Okay, this story here? This was freaking awesome. This feels like "No Such Luck" and "Brawl in the Family" done right.

I'm not a fan of either of those episodes. Not because I'm one of those Lincoln worshipers who thinks he's the Second Coming or anything (I agree with you in that he's far from perfect), but because the sisters were basically flanderized into a single hive-mind entity dedicated to completely screwing Lincoln over. There was little-to-no justification for their animosity, it all boiled down to "Let's make our brother's life a living hell because the script says so."

But here? They had a legitimate reason for messing with Lincoln. Everyone was perfectly in character in every way: Lori coming up with the plan and her justifications for it, Leni and Luna having reservations, Lola basically acting like spoiled royalty with her demands... none of the sisters came off as OOC. And the best part is how natural it all felt. The sisters were being a tad selfish - as children and teenagers are prone to be - and just took things a little too far by mistake. They weren't twirling their villain mustaches while gloating about how EVIL their plan was - they were just being human.

On the same topic, you also did a great job with Lincoln. It's been shown plenty of times in the cartoon how dedicated he gets when he puts his mind to something, and you did a great job capturing that, especially with his internal justifications for staying in the bidding war. Points for also making it clear that while the sisters have the lion's share of the blame for the whole mess, Lincoln also brought it on himself by not just cutting his losses with that bust.

If I any criticisms, its the third act. The ending was indeed heartwarming (and the reveal with Mr. Grouse at the very end make me chuckle), but it felt like the conflict was wrapped up a little too quickly. We only got a few paragraphs on how Lincoln spent the rest of the weekend mad as sisters while they avoided him as opposed to actually reading about it ourselves. It's just a minor complaint though.

All in all, this story was fantastic. I'm sure you've heard this before, but this feels like it could have been an actual episode of the show. Great job.

It was a bit cruel what the sisters did, but at least they made up for it in the end, and that's what counts.
acosta perez jose ramiro chapter 1 . 7/6/2017
Hey, this is pretty good, and yes, you make a good point; none of the sisters would do this on another of the girls, while they all feel fine doing this stuff to Lincoln.

Keep the good writing.
gonzo22 chapter 1 . 7/6/2017
I love this story. This is the kind of Loud House story i've been waiting for and it's the one that seems to work like an actual Loud House episode.
niceice23 chapter 1 . 6/4/2017
Wow this story was created so well its almost like you wrote down one of the scripts for an upcoming episode, well
zakudosukin chapter 1 . 5/25/2017
A really nice story.

I know this has been said before, but it really feels like this could be the story of an actual episode. I think that there is in your story everything a good Loud House episode has: humour, conflict and a heartwarming conclusion. My only nitpick would be that, after spending most of the story building up so well the conflict between Lincoln and his sisters, the resolution seems a little too quick. While the narration notes that 3 days passed, they do it in an ellipsis. Therefore, the reader doesn't feel like that much time passed. A few paragraphs describing the rift between Lincoln and his sisters then his slow realization that he would like to forgive them would have made the transition more fluid. But the reconciliation scene is touching nonetheless, so it's only a minor nitpick.

I guess your story looks so much like an actual episode because every character is in-character. The sisters are not flanderized for the sake of drama and even the victim Lincoln isn't flanderized into a saintly completely innocent victim without flaws. (After all, he made the choice to not go to Rusty's birthday in order to continue to bid more money to get the item, choosing to put it on top of his priority list instead of his friends.) I also like the fact that you showed that not the sisters are not an indistinct mass and that they have different opinions about the whole idea.

I also love the way you wrote the interactions between them, wether you want them to be funny, sad or heartwarming. Each part feel genuine. When I read them, I could imagine them being featured in an episode. For instance, I could totally picture the part where the nine sisters suddenly surround Lori, looking angry, and Lori exclaims "Seriously, what is with me and awkward sibling encounters today?" being featured in an episode.
LH chapter 1 . 4/9/2017
Your fic is good, the sisters aren't going overboard and they are comforting at the end which is very good and, except for that part about Mr Grouse, is heartwarming at the end which is great. It's miles far away from the aberration that NSL was.

The thing is, from your A/N seems you made this fic only as response for fics based on BITF and NSL in which they take the Loud sisters in a bad light which, seeing how they acted in such episodes, is no wonder they were perceived as such due how they acted in such episodes and previous others, and in all fairness, for me NSL was a such crap of episode. Why? Let's see:

First Lynn forces Lincoln to go to her game of baseball and when her team loses, the first thing that she does it's to accuse him to give bad luck. Now this is not so unexpected, neither so out of character of Lynn, given her tendency to let herself get carried away by anger.

Then Lynn tries to avoid that Leni take to Lincoln due to his bad luck. Lincoln, just rolls with it and I suppose than any someone else with an apex of common sense, would do the same thing. Well, if someone invite me to some event were she/he was participating and failed and then accuse me for bring bad luck to him/her, I neither would want to have nothing with that someone for a while, if any at all.

The above aggravates when Lincoln lets the lie get out of hand, at this point the plot allows us to see that maybe almost all sisters will believe that Lincoln brings "bad luck" and they're going to ignore and evade him for a while, right? wrong, what happens is very very worse.

All the sisters, including Lisa who had admitted some episodes before that she did not believe in superstitions, now somehow believes them too. Even worse, things are not as you were saying, that the fandom hates the sisters and in consequence to the parents, It is due to the parents's actions that are even crueler than the sisters's, that NLS is such crap for me, since they also believed the lie and not only they excluded Lincoln as his sisters did it, but they also kicked Lincoln out the house and boarded up his room too, and later informed him they sold his furniture just giving him a pathetic apology about it. I'm sorry but when his parents got involved on the matter acting negligently, as well as being truly *****es towards their only son, is when things have far trespassed the comedic or funny line for me.

Forget about the sisters for a moment, Lincoln's parents are the true monsters here, that is irrefutable, that is a given.

I highly doubt anyone watchs the show with the idea that the Loud sisters are Cinderella's evil stepsisters and Lincoln's supposedly some "too good for this sinful Earth" character that's constantly bombarded inside of a familial whirlwind of suffering and torment because his family treats him like a "black sheep". It's more about the show throwing us that fact at our face in some episodes, since if that was as you say I doubt very much that were fanfics exclusively in answer of episodes like BITF and NSL since that type of conduct toward Lincoln would be the standard of the show.

I believe than when somebody is watching the show, is with the idea of simply having fun while watching family situations that are REAL FUNNY, however the way the sisters and even worse the parents were acting in a way cruelly OOC, they hadn't mercy or any pity, where in your fic they have in fact, as they ostracized Lincoln, board up his room and sold out his furniture without any no remorse, that those fics were made with very good reasons more than justified.

The main problem with that episodes is how the sisters and even the parents were so cruelly OOC compared to other episodes. Or you can somehow justify the parents selling Lincoln's belongings, can you? especially when before was a "plethora of awesome, funny, heartwarming episodes and moments, that got us all to watch in the first place" as you pointed up, and that just made BITF and NSL even worse for me because, in fact, looks like the enterely family forgeted such heartwarming moments by the way they treated Lincoln.

I'am also somewhat tired with the fics where Lincoln has to do something like suicide jut for the sisters can feel something akin to guilty, but isn't the writers to blame fos such fics, it's just some episodes are a great fuel for it because in some, just seems like Lincoln is the only one who loves his family family more than what they love him.

I'm even more tired of watching in several episodes that even though Lincoln can have certain fault, almost always he makes amends himself and he's always the one that has to learn a "lesson" while being quite humiliated in the process. While in his sisters case, if they have some faults too, they come out unharmed practically of any situation by becoming a "Karma Houdini" themselves and even they are defended by their parents, I'm referring to the canon of course. And no, an apology should not be enough, Lincoln has ben humillated and mistreated for doing far less to his sisters or parents.

I hope don't take such overranting from me in a wrong way, I really like your fic, shows a caring side of the sisters that was completely absent in NLS, and I wish that was present on said episode.
Hatoralo chapter 1 . 4/8/2017
Hmmmm…
A good story, I say, yes a good story.

My gripes is Lori’s behavior at the beginning. She comes across as more violent than usual.
Especially being ready for… “Pretzeling” Lincoln. I think she would simply have him thrown out before anything else. Well, maybe kicking him out Philip Banks-style.
Also… She had that dishwashing job to do, she could have given him that from the beginning. Or did she forgot?

It also seems that the parents prefer to have the children swap chores instead of paying them.
I wonder how those negotiations proceeded.

Also the sisters have to be very rich these days if they can pay Lincoln so much money. I am not sure if it was worth it but there are worse cases of “Didn’t think this through”.

The general humor, the flow of the story and the general character behavior really worked well. I really enjoyed this story.
The ending also worked, considering how much money the sisters have lost to make it up to Lincoln.
I just wonder why Mr. Grouse wanted the bust, is he a fan of the character.

Terrific work, Wincreaft, terrific work.

P.S.: I imagine how Grouse eats all the Lasagna Cookie Monster-Style. XD
DarthSidious04 chapter 1 . 4/3/2017
honestly, I'm more annoyed that we have as if right now on this site, about 5 fanfics all dealing with No Such Luck and they are all similar...
riprope22 chapter 1 . 4/3/2017
I have to be honest I'm annoyed at over sensitive fandom as much as anyone, the attempt to make it look like Lincoln is abused and treated with nothing but disrespect from his family.

And this story generally does seem more like a Loud house episode with every one in character for the most part. Though I would think that Luna would be more then willing to use her brother.

The Argument and resolution of the story is fine, but I have to be honest I don't like ending with Mr grouse. Not that it's a bad twist but the attempt to do the whole talking to the audience gag fails. I mean it fails because the joke only works when it's a visual medium.

And now for my brief opinion on the rant.

I don't like it.

Sorry it's just something that irked me. Don't know why, it just came across as preachy.
Guest chapter 1 . 4/2/2017
Dude that was awesome! Well done if Chris ever checked out the archives,he should definitely make an episode out of this and not that I'm hating, but what happened to your Ronnicoln stories they're by far one of my favorites.
Tallyman18 chapter 1 . 4/2/2017
Love it, which is par for the course for your stories. And yeah I agree, sometimes people react alittle to strongly and commit fanfic hyperbole.

And yeah Lincoln's been plenty selfish, plenty of times, I mean hell I think his reaction in "Ties that bind" was the coldest any Loud sibling had been in this show.
PC the Unicorn chapter 1 . 4/2/2017
This was a great story! All the characters were in character and it felt like this could have been an actual episode of the show! Keep up the good work.
