If your looking to bring back some of Ashes rivals (For any part of the series that you want), might I recommend : Paul? Despite being Ashes opponent, Paul's personality could show the Alola gang that their are trainers out their that only care for absolute strength & power in a Pokèmon! He's stubborn and sticks to his ideals very well (if I may say) and could show the crew their flaws!

But, if your looking for Ashes rivals to be in the alola league I'd recommend: Tobias! He massacred the competition with only a Darkrai, he's respectful to anyone who could take down said Darkrai, and is Ashes greatest challenge! (In my opinion) If Ash defeats him in the finals, it would prove that Ash is much stronger than he was during the shinnoh league!

Please please please please update this story because it is such a brilliant story and I couldn't stop reading it.

It would be nice if Ash had a Riolu and it evolved into Lucario. But instead of male Riolu, try a female Riolu as it might liking Ash very much. Especially when she evolved into Lucario.

With that Harem Ash won't have enough milk for all of them you gotta give the boy a lot ot vitamins and nutrients before the girls suck his life and other things...One or two of Ash pokemons are more than enough to deal with Team Rocket cuz they don't train their mons why release all the ones he has?...

Welp giving a try to this one cuz I couldn't watch the anime after seeing how hideous Ash new art style was not to mention how childish..Tho good move in making him trade his Tauros for new pokemons and make him bring some old ones the anime always fail to do that..But I think the Z-moves are dumb and trainers look even dumber doing the poses like bro mega evo was more badass in everyway...
