THIS IS SO PERFECT. I love it! Season 4 is my fave. I now fully accept and support the headcanon that Luke made the Dragonfly signs. And the idea that he added the extra details to the chuppah...I just love it. This is extremely well-written, too. Thank you so much for writing this!

Oooh, so I love that this is a season 4 fic, because this part of the season especially is just amazing.

I love the inner musings on failed relationship with Nicole, and how it was driven by so much guilt on his end. I think Luke carries everyone’s guilt on him, which is what makes him push so hard with Jess. He sees Liz leaving home as a personal failure, not because Liz was messed up at the time.

Oh, the chuppah plans! I’m with Lorelai, gushing over all the work put into making it.

Head canon: The Ls were never without Barbie band-aids. Ever.

Poor Caesar (Cesar? I’ve seen it spelled both ways?), defeated by a Law & Order marathon.

I love the little touch of Mia gifting the girls with old furniture. It makes sense that’s how they got some of those lovely pieces. Plus a lot of good thifting and yard sale hunts.

Speaking of that, I love that despite it being Lorelai’s birthday came up, she gave Luke a gift.

Bwhahaha, Sookie kicking Lorelai out of the inn by stealing the phone and telling Luke what Lorelai needed.

I LOVE THESE GIFTS, OMG.

This story slots in so perfectly into right before the penny drops completely for Luke (and for good), and he keeps insisting over and over that Lorelai is just a friend, and is convincing himself very badly about this. You did such a lovely, lovely job with this!
