I liked this better as a one-shot. When it was just a one-shot, it felt finished, and, if the reader wanted to, they were able to come up with a epilogue of their own. The second chapter kinda takes away from the whole "Horror" feel of it as well, since we can now tell that he will eventually be found. Although, Personally, I'm probably the last one that should be talking about things taking away from the "Horror" feel of it, seeing as how back when it was just a one-shot, I had always envisioned an epilogue where Ash remembered "Oh yeah! There totally was that one plan where I would totally be able to get together with Cynthia and not wind up causing her to go to jail! Right! I had totally forgot about it!" and it turned out that he was totally cool with the entire situation.
