Well I did predict that Randall would get a big damn hero moment, his upcoming trial is something I also thought would happen (I did not predict Maribel being a lawyer) and his reaction towards Libra's death with nearly exactly how I envisioned it.

I did not expect Gangrel to live and I also thought Luci would have joined with the main cast by now.

There are few over predictions but that stuff is later on down the line .

That was an awesome fight scene and a very touching reunion. I'm glad that you're continuing with this, because I feel very invested in this story now. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Sorry about my last review, I feel like I was a little rude in it with the make it more interesting but, my bad. So, he's met up with the group. I like the way you spaced out timeakips, in the way of jumping perspectives so that we know that time is passing, Randy finding out where they've gone, Khans chasing Plegians, Chrom catching up, and Randy appearing, having clearly pulled out no stops in getting back to them. Good motivations on everyone, and I REALLY liked the twist with Flavia haring Randy's guts. It's going to create an interesting dynamic in the politics of the nations.

Even if Randy gets acquitted of the charges she hates him for, she's not going to believe it. She'll think that his friend just let him go. It's going to TOPPLE the alliance between Ferox and Ylisse, unless something happens that makes Randy earn Flavias trust again. Some shit where he saves her life?

Also, really interesting opening with Grima, or at least who I think is Grima. Does he (it?) have a male body? Is it just occupying a random host that'll get discarded, or was there some Alt timeline where Robin was Male? Kinda a little confused. Tho I suppose a Dragon God could make himself look like whatever he wanted once he had a host, genderswap!

Anyways, This chapter was superb. Loved the bit where Chrom curbs his anger finally and thinks for a moment. Killing a leader in war might make a Martyr. Killing him on trial shows the other country that there might be a lesson to be learned.

I'm interested by the implications of Chroms resourcefulness, yeah let's call it that. Showing a clear mind might make there be some way towards Allying with Walhart instead of a war? Not likely, but Walhart legit was like, AW fuck they're gonna cause the end of the world summoning Grima I gotta get an army set up to fight it. And realistically the Ylisseans didnt have to fight him. At least that's what I remember happening.

There's a lot of changes that you've made, and I'm interested to see the consequences and how they influence the world. Hope to read more soon. Oh, and fucking score on the Robin loving Randy mark. Wooooooo!

Here’s hoping Randy heard Robin.

There are so many good things I could say about this chapter but lemme just hit the highest of high notes: Lucina singing Wonderboy, which is a sentence I never thought I'd be typing in my life. Chrom taking up the Fire Emblem before putting on his father's armor and noting the significance of its weight, both literally and emotionally. The climax of the war, with Chrom taking another step in moving past his hatred of Gangrel to spare the man and see proper justice carried out. Randall finally reuniting with the Shepards after being separated from them for so long. That heartwarming reunion with Robin and the way she clung to Randall as if he'd disappear the moment she let go of him again. The impending conflict between the Halidom of Ylisse and Regna Ferox for Randall's temporary role as Thomas Paine. Randall's breakdown when he finally learns of Libra's death. Robin's declaration of love and oath to protect Randall no matter what.

That last one especially, my god. I feel like I've been waiting for Robin/Randall for years and I only started reading this story a few months ago! You've crushed my heart once when Maribelle/Randall fell through (albeit, for the right reasons) but don't you dare go doing it again. This was an incredible chapter and, as always, I'll be looking forward to the next.

I'll address the last portion of this chapter first, as it's the most fresh in my memory. I've been on the Robin/Randall train since that first scene where they fell asleep on and under the table and then
have proceeded to double down so many more times as they've grown close. It's so good to see it confirmed, even if only from one side. On a side note the, "I will do whatever it takes. I will protect him." strikes me as extremely ominous and foreboding for some reason. A part of me thinks it ties into why Traveller/Maybe-Future-Randall is so obsessed with and hates Robin but that's just piling a theory on top of another unconfirmed theory.

Randall and Lucina singing Earth songs and telling Earth stories that Randall adapted in the other timeline is very sweet and elaborates even more on Randall's place within the future as a surrogate father to everyone, especially Cynthia and Owain. Discussing the future kids also has me looking forward to something that might not happen; I want Morgan to show up and address Randall as her father as the reveal to who he marries. I'm not sure if Morgan is female but Lucina referred to Randall's daughter last chapter so I assume she was talking about Morgan.

Chrom's growth is something I've been noticing is a highlight of this chapter. I like it, especially when looking back on him snapping in anger towards Randall and then accusing him of being a traitor when he was kidnapped as a comparison. He's become a Great Lord, growing into the shoes of the exalt position in more ways than one. I like to see it as a very on the nose allusion to his growing maturity, something that's highlighted further when he spares both the Plegian foot soldier and then later Gangrel. In a chapter literally titled Reunion, my favorite line comes from Chrom's soliloquy, "I wonder if this is how battle felt near the end of the last war. My father's armor feels just a little heavier when I think that." Something about that line and the paragraph before it strikes me in a way I can't quite describe, the paranoia, the chaos, the literal and metaphorical weight on his shoulders seems so succinctly and neatly portrayed in those 5 lines.

The fight between Gangrel and Chrom and then Randall's timely entrance seems pretty routine. Nothing much to say there other than that I would have liked for Randall to have cast dark magic at Gangrel during his entrance, mirroring the Traveller's entrance into the negotiation meeting but the complete opposite just to add to what everyone was already thinking upon seeing his coat.

On the topic of the actual reunion part of this chapter, I have to say that I was a very big fan. Each individual reunion felt like it was something special, even with the characters that Randall is less close to. Old Randy seems to still be holding onto his crush on Cordelia, though, I wonder how that'll go given the recent revelation we've had at the end of this chapter. The centerpiece of the chapter was, of course, the Robin/Randall reunion. That also didn't disappoint and I was a big fan of the little scene with her panicking beforehand as Chrom tries to calm her down, it really drives it home.

Randall getting put on trial and Chrom appointing Maribelle as the magistrate. No favoritism there whatsoever. Nope, none at all. That'll be a completely fair trial, I'm sure. Flavia seems suitably pissed and will probably not calm down quite so easily, though, especially given what Regulus has told her. It's good, though, that Chrom is unfaltering in his belief even after Randall admits that he's Thomas Paine. Hopefully the trial and subsequent fallout will settle with less drama than I'd originally anticipated.

Overall, no complaints on this chapter. I'm very happy that the reunion we've been looking forward to since Randall was first kidnapped has finally arrived and with a suitable conclusion. Hoping to see more of the revive dynamics from here on out and perhaps a general rise in the mood of the story but who knows. It also seems like a few of the plot threads are wrapping up as the relative timelines intersect and new ones are popping out of the blue, Gangrel's survival and Robin/Randall being two that I take a lot of interest in. Looking forward to the next.

P.S. Continue playing it safe when deciding which characters to sacrifice, please. I'd rather not jinx it.

Yeah, I’d say The Reunion(tm) lived up to everything I had hoped it would be. Very bittersweet because of Libra not making it and Randy being kinda-almost arrested by the Feroxi, but mostly sweet. Yay for Robin admitting her love!

And now it’s time for Phoenix Wright: Fire Emblem Edition. I feel like we were just joking about this on the Discord, but now it might actually happen xD I hope at least one person shouts “OBJECTION” during the next arc. It just won’t feel right otherwise.
