nannygirl chapter 11 . 12/9/2018
Another very terrific chapter this was!

Really loved how this chapter started off in the past too, but this time it was focus on Hyde and his childhood. When looking back at the flashback of Jackie’s you can see some of the similarities of their not so happy childhoods as well as the major differences like having the parents around. The whole part about Hyde and him looking up at the stars, dreaming up his own little family was so sweet but also heartbreaking. I’m glad that in some ways he’s gotten some of the dream family, his dad working in the music business, Kitty who is like his mom makes some great brownies, and Hyde’s kinda got the two other siblings in Eric and Laurie.

The scene with Hyde out in the balcony looking up at the stars again was brilliant and created a wonderful image. Of course, I was even happier when Red joined him out there. Classic Red reminding Hyde that he promised to keep an eye on Jackie for the evening and the part where Red agrees that Jackie can take care of herself but that it’s more fun to watch Hyde do it—lol LOVED that!

And as much as I adored Red and Hyde having a conversation out on the balcony I ADORED the moments that followed between Hyde and Brooke. We never got much interaction between the two of them on the show and this chapter here makes me really wish we had! LOVELOVELOVED it! The whole part with Brooke thanking Hyde for looking out for Jackie was sweet, and the explanation of how Brooke and Jackie probably didn’t have a lot in common in high school but had become great friends all tese years later was brilliant. I LOVED Brooke’s story of how she’d been there to help poor Jackie when she was feeling down, the whole time I could imagine all those scenes she told perfectly and my heart broke for poor Jackie. But I’m glad that Brooke was able to help give Jackie that extra push to go chase her dreams instead of letting them find her—that was a really lovely way to put it! And the fact that Hyde doesn’t get upset at Brooke but instead respects her even more for helping Jackie like that is really just the sweetest. LOVED that!

It’s also really very kind of Brooke to point out that Hyde has changed too and her line here “The Steven Hyde I first met only cared about the color black, throwing things at glass and of course his girlfriend.”—awesome throwback to the episode from the show! I love how much more depth and heart you’ve given Brooke. I’ve always wished she could have seen her more in the show and if we had I wish she would have been just as you write her! You did an amazing job writing here!

Hyde watching everyone out on the dance floor was so sweet. My heart melted at Red and Kitty’s slow dance with Red and his eyes closed. And then Kelso and Brooke were purely adorable. I could imagine poor Eric’s embarrassing dance moves lol and even Fez found a dance partner for the night, yay! Another yay when Jackie pushed Hyde onto the dance floor, so they wouldn’t be the only losers lol Aw but the slow song ended and fast paced one picked up that got the kids off the dance floor because everyone in the young crowd but Fez, (of course) didn’t know how to swing.

At least it gave them time for conversation and we got to meet some interesting characters for the Forman family. It was nice that it looks like so many people came to celebrate Red and Kitty’s anniversary. I like Connor much more than Desmond! Lol And it looks like Ade was having a good time at the party too and this time Hyde gets to have a tur at teasing her a bit lol their whole exchange was terrific!

And that ending! Oh my gosh! I had initially thought it would happen but last chapter when Brooke assured Jackie she still had months to go I thought it wouldn’t happen, now I’m just hoping the newest baby Kelso will be okay!

Finally caught up with this great story! I’m really looking forward to reading more whenever you get to post it! Keep up the good work!
nannygirl chapter 10 . 12/9/2018
Back to read more of this great story!

Yay! It’s the night of the anniversary party, so exciting! But the way it starts off with the flashback with Jackie and Pam was brilliant. I really felt bad for Little Jackie and all those things Pam was telling her, filling her mind with all those ideas and warnings of disowning her if she fell in love with someone who wasn’t rich. You not only captured Pam’s voice very well (and made me dislike her even more) but you helped us understand Jackie’s attitudes and behaviors from the early seasons. I liked how you even added in that Jackie was part of the reason Kelso suddenly got dumber in math, very clever! Love how years later Brooke not only brought back his love for tech stuff but also that Jackie apologized for what she’d said.

The whole scene with the girls getting ready and talking was wonderfully written. Ade fits right in with the group and the way she and Jackie talk to each other, you can tell they’ve known each other for a while. The descriptions of what the girls looked like was beautifully done too, the whole USO theme thing is adorable and it makes total sense that the girls would dress in those old fashion swing dresses, but Eric’s red, white, and blue idea was clever and reminded me of Bob when he got his family to dress as the American flag lol

Then the whole thing where they had to figure out how everyone would get there was too funny. Especially Jackie trying to explain why she couldn’t be in the same vehicle with Hyde—they’d shared a car long enough on the way to Point Place I’m sure she thinks, but maybe it wasn’t actually long enough. At least this time that had Ade between them and Red and Kitty in the front seat. Oh and the bit about Eric and Star Wars, how he refused to talk about it after finding out about Luke and Leia lol I could totally see that! Oo and there’s mention of a surprise that Red has for Kitty, aww! I can’t wait to find out what it is!

Great description of the hotel, loving the whole USO theme of the party it’s like Red and Kitty…though I’m sure mostly Kitty, tried to recreate the whole evening of when they first met. The Manhattans in the bar was a very nice touch and I think the 40s big band music was very fitting, both with Red and the fact that I’ve always imagined Red and Kitty having met in the very late ‘40s so nice job there! :D

Loved Ade trying to get Hyde to dance with Jackie lol and it looks like a relative of Kitty’s has swooped in before either one could protest or agree. Desmond sounding like the guy Pam would have wanted Jackie to be with was a great way to tie into the beginning of the story, but even if he is from Kitty’s side of the family, I don’t like him. Especially when his hands started to move sound on Jackie, thank goodness Hyde was there. And he even cut in and danced with her that was so sweet, a bit sad when she told him not to call her doll but I like how he respects her wishes and follows through. They actually seemed to be having a good conversation until the mention of all that happen in 1979, was afraid things would take a worse turn but Kitty interrupting because she saw Red’s surprise was a good interruption. I am dying to know what the surprise is! At least we know that it made Kitty happy :D Hoping the dinner part of the night goes well and who knows maybe another dance between Hyde and Jackie that will have a happier ending. I know that I’m hopeful!

Nice job on this chapter once again, I really liked reading it, looking forward to reading more and I hope to do so soon till then keep up the good work!
nannygirl chapter 9 . 12/2/2018
This was such a fun chapter! Think it could be my new favorite from this fic!

The start off of the chapter being that beachy sorta dream of Hyde’s was terrific and I think we all know who was under that sunhat, or at least we’re all hoping it was that one person. I loved how you wrote that moment and all the great details including the way the woman Hyde sat with was, with the dark hair, floppy hat and Peanuts voice lol Then Hyde has a sort of rude awakening with realizing he wasn’t in his cot and was now being woken up to by a song that was basically written about him and Jackie, Fabulous moment where Hyde starts correcting some of the lyrics with how he is sure things went during that time for him and Jackie.

Eric coming down to check on Hyde was great too and I like dhwo it turned into a conversation about Eric’s time in Africa. How he doesn’t talk much about it but Hyde lets hm know that he can talk about it with him, “"Forman, you can tell me about the Sudan anytime you want. I mean, there's no guarantee that I'll listen, but you don't have to keep it to yourself."—Lol that is so Hyde! LOVED that!

Then in the kitchen poor Kelso has had a rough night, explaining he even had to take Brooke and his kids to the hospital, he was talking about th unborn baby but I LOVELOVELOVE that Hyde not only thought it was Betsy but shows great concern and then relief when making sure that she was okay. That was just the cutest thing ever! And her putting on Hyde’s shades—SO precious! Betsy pretty much stole the scenes she was in, thinking her baby brother was eating Brooke’s organs and telling Hyde to tell the baby not to lol Oh my gosh, the ketchup covered sheets and pjs nearly scared me too! Kelso eating hot dog in bed? Lol Oh Kelso! Back with Betsy and Hyde though I loved that Betsy managed to get Hyde to talk to Brooke’s tummy and then Jackie and Ade catching him in the act was pure gold! LOOOVVVEEEDD IT!

Fez and Laurie jogging together is a great image, always love the idea of them being together but them having this close friendship also works awesomely! Loved the moment where Fez admires Ade’s hair and soon all the other girls are doing so too, telling each other how beautiful they are and how Eric says it’s even better than a girl fight lol

LOVED seeing Bob again and Kitty preparing to make a whole big meal for all of the vistors she has in her house now is just what Kitty would do. It makes me so happy seeing how happy she is with her home full again, she wants to cook for them all. Meanwhile Red wants them all out of his kitchen to give him at least a few moments of peace lol. It really is nice to see how some things never change.

Oh my goodness the basketball part was awesome! What a brilliant and fun idea! I love that it relives their childhood/teen days of playing the game and how we got to see charatcters we never saw playing in the show playing now like Laurie and Jackie. You wrote it all so wonderfully and I’m sure writing the sports part and dialogue mixed in was not such an easy task but you did awesome! Actually reminded me a bit of the Friends football episode which is not only one of my favorite thanksgiving episodes but favorite episodes of the series. This scene was just so much fun I wish we could have seen it on the screen, especially the last part of the game where Hyde and Jackie were fighting over the ball and it put them in a position they probably didn’t mean to get into but when they realized it they quickly pulled away from each other. Awesomely brilliant moment there!

Again fabulous job on this chapter! I LOVED it so much! Looking forward to reading more and I really hope to do so again soon! Till then keep up the very great work!
nannygirl chapter 8 . 12/2/2018
What a fabulous chapter this was!

It was great to see Laurie back and interacting with all the characters. Think her exchanges with Eric were my favorite though, the bickering sibling thing was wonderfully written and very funny. I loved seeing how happy Laurie was too, she’s still a bit snarky and there’s some of that evil streak still in her but she’s genuinely happy and appears even happy to see her brother and his friends. I liked she was happy for Eric for having gotten married with Donna and now they’re having a baby together, but her having just found out about all this must mean she hasn’t been in touch with her family in a long time which is sad.

Also LOVED her reunion with Fez. That was so sweet I’m glad that they’re friends now and that Laurie even kind of helped him realize his sexuality would be accepting. I thought that whole moment where Fez shared his sexuality with his friends was wonderfully written, ithad humor but in a tastefully done way where nothing was really being poked at or made fun of. Wonderful work there.

Another highlight of the chapter was Betsy meeting Laurie, and the whole conversation about who Betsy’s Godparents were, gotta love how she was sure that Jackie had gotten Hyde to settle down and marry her—how we wish this were true!

Then things got kind of serious when Laurie says she can’t have kids and Kitty overhears this. I kind felt upset with Kitty, pressing Laurie to tell her what she was talking about right there in front of everyone when it was clear she wanted to have more privacy, and this is the first time Laurie and her parents had seen each other, it’s sad she didn’t get the hugs and excitement that Kitty welcomed the others with. Laure sharing that she was infrietle was another very wonderfully written part and I’m glad that not a whole lot of jokes were made in this moment and the ones that were made were from Eric, he’s laurie’s bother and that teasing is their relationship but even then he feels guilty about what he’s said. It’s really sad to hear that Laurie isn’t able to have kids because I think she’d make a great mother, but at the same time at least she’s free to have this fun life style and with Eric and Donna having kids she can be fun Aunt Laurie! Loved Kitty comforting Laurie near the end though and that made me less upset with her, Red on the other hand, going into the other room instead of following and being there for Laurie too, especially when she’d just come home, Oh Red. But then again I’m thinking that he just wanted to give Kitty and Laurie some space to talk about babies and female problems, cuz I could definitely see him skipping out on that lol

Great ending to the chapter with everyone finding out where they were going to stay, loved Jackie offering her space to the others and Fez talking about where he would stay and also sharing whatever became of Big Rhonda was awesome! They were soo close to getting Hyde and Jackie to share a room but giving them sometime might be best since they were still bickering now. Loved how Brooke got them to stop arguing and call a truce too lol throwing in for the sake of Betsy was a nice touch too! Loved how proud Kelso was of her too and the lip lock they engaged in that kinda grossed everyone out lol

Marvelous work once more! I really loved reading this chapter! I’m looking forward to reading more and I hope to do so again soon! Till then keep up the very great work!
nannygirl chapter 7 . 12/2/2018
Back to read more of this great story!

Terrific way to start the chapter off with Jackie lost in her thoughts about being stuck in the car beside Hyde as they drove back to Point Place. Her thoughts about California were wonderfully written, you really can’t blame her for already missing the place. I forgot, how long are they going to be in Point Place?

Kelso was funny as always being the big kid in the backseat of the car not just asking they were there yet but for ice cream lol the way even Betsy thinks he is ricidulous was very funny.

Like the part where they were driving into Point Place and Jackie realizes that things there never change. Wonder if she’ll find some of the old feelings she has for some things and people are still the same too. The exchange between the group about it being a long drive was nicely written though I think it was a much longer ride for Jackie and even Hyde than for The Kelso family.

Kitty’s welcoming of the new arrivals was great but it was really wonderful to see the gang back together. It right away felt like old times with a this really sweet reuion. Eric really didn’t waste any time with making devil related jokes about Jackie did he? Lol And they were right in Eric fashion too! No body quite getting them at first with the whole Georgia thing lol And then it spews into a whole other conversation about spicy food and devils food cake lol and then somehow it ended with Red getting in trouble with Kitty because of something they did in Georgia lol Okay now I’m curious what they did and why/when Red and Kitty were in Georgia! Lol

Loved Donna and Jackie’s reunion and their talk about the baby and what they thought it was going to be. That was such a great exchange, Eric included, that I could see happening so clearly.

Interesting to here that Jackie knows Adaliah, love that she’s excited to see her and she was missed in this chapter, but I am wondering why Ade hadn’t mentioned meeting Jackie before. Hyde doesn’t sound too thrilled with the idea of Jackie being friends with members with his family but I think that had more to do with him being worried that they could be talking about him.

The conversation about cookies and Eric and Kelso talking about their wives and how they were good at everything was nice to see. I’m glad the two are happy in their marriage life.

Wow Red’s really been keep tracking on why exactly the kids are dumbasses to him lol that was a pretty fun read and though he still thinks they’re dumbasses for all these reasons I know he must have missed them all just a bit. Though Kitty’s request to not call them dumbasses while they’re here is a lot to ask, plus its part of what make Red, Red but maybe he’ll make up for it with more foot in the rear end threats—Kitty didn’t say anything about that lol

Liked how the pantsing of Rick Springfield got brought up again and Kelso tries to explain he was defending his wife and he topic goes onto the beauty of the women which end up getting Red into more trouble with the use of a past tense word, but even when he tried to fix it Kitty wasn’t having. Poor Red, he really just cant win in this chapter huh?

But hopefully things will change next chapter after all Laurie just arrived and I’m hoping he’ll be happy to see his daughter again. Laurie’s arrival really was a terrific surprise!

Wonderful work on this chapter! I greatly enjoyed reading it! Looking forward to reading more, till then keep up the very good work!

I absolutely love the story’s development! It’s been a perfect pace, not too rushed especially when it comes to J&H. Also, I just LOVE all the dialogue, definitely my favorite story :)

Thank you for responding to my comment on tumblr! Your answers are pretty cool, I like knowing what made an author decide between different directions of story.

This chapter sure had its moments. I like how it started with a Pam and Jackie backstory. The dancing part with Eric’s cousin was funny — until he decided to grab her ass. Steven to the rescue! He trying to talk and Jackie being “how about nope” lmao

I like the blabbing part and how Brooke knows Jackie tho it was annoying how they kept pushing for her and Hyde to be together. I get it, I ship it too, but damn... Leave they alone, if is going to happen its going to happen.

I’m worried about Brooke, poor girl! Hope nothing bad happens to her, but it does sound like foreshadowing.

I don’t blame Jackie for not wanting to talk to Hyde, I wouldn’t either, but him even trying is kinda surprising imho you know? Let’s see where this goes. I’m looking foward to the next chapter!

nannygirl chapter 6 . 8/7/2018
This chapter was such a wonderfully marvelous chapter!

Love the whole theme of the road trip that this chapter had. The characters were all brilliantly written and so in character, there were lots of laughs, and of course that Kelso Family is just the best! Think this may be my favorite chapter of the story so far it was such fun!

Liked how the start of the chapter really got us into Hyde’s head and his thoughts on that question of being a bird. Like dhow he had different responses and different types of birds he would be, but most always that bird would fly away from where he was at that moment, the drivers seat of the El Camino with Jackie right beside him. LOVELOVELOVELOVED how that worked out! Brooke being pregnant so she can’t sit up front, and Kelso pretty much ordering Jackie sit shot gun to protect Brooke and the baby was the sweetest, even if Jackie wasn’t too happy about it lol

Another brilliantly amazing part was Hyde’s whole thoughts on the El Camino. How the car was really one of the few constant things in his life and how it had been there for him during some important moments of his life, like when he realized he really did love Jackie…even if it was a little too late. I’m so glad that he’s taken care of it and still has it too. I’m sure that it being a gift from Leo also means a lot too. Loved reading about how the car even helped him connect to his biological family.

LOVELOVELOVED the part where Tiny Grasshopper came on the radio and Jackie wants him to turn it up. Hyde’s amazement at her actually liking the song is sweet. I had a feeling the song was somehow inspired by Jackie and I really enjoyed hearing exactly how. Hyde can hear the bits that remind him of him and Jackie, I wonder if Jackie does too and that’s why she loves the song so much….if she hadn’t I think she might connect the dots soon now that she knows Hyde is the band’s record producer.

Just loved how Kelso was the one to spill the beans about that lol But at the same time I tmade me sad because Jackie had no clue about this, which is something that’s actually pretty big, she’s managed to distance herself from Hyde and their friends have kept from talking about him to her too much probably afraid of how it might stir up old feelings. Still, as sad as it is that Jackie didn’t know Hyde was so successful, I really loved how happy she got when she heard all this information. It really was the sweetest, you could almost see the sort of bashful look on Hyde’s face when he heard her words.

And it’s sweet that after Jackie shows interest in what Hyde’s been up to, Hyde does the same with her. Sounds like he doesn’t know all the details of what’s happened wit he’s got a few here and there, some a bit jumbled but still counts! The Gomer’s Hospital bit was funny. And I liked when he informed that Donna had actually watched the soap for Jackie too and was proud of her too. The talk about her and college was also really nice to read, I loved reading how Hyde seemed happy that Jackie had made things work in her favor, finally going out to achieve that greatness she had always said she was destined for. Loved that as well as the simple exchange here: “"You like it?" Hyde asked. "Yeah," Jackie nodded with a smile, "I really do." "Good," he said.” Simple but so, so sweet!

Really loved the whole bit about Brooke’s dream and the confusion Jackie and Hyde had about it, but Kelso remembers who Hypatia is, even if in his own Kelso like terms lol That was such a wonderfully written part and Brooke’s explanation was very informative, and really seemed to impress Hyde. That was a really nice part where he thinks about how glad he is Betsy is to have a woman like Brooke as her mother.

Of course if you take a Michael Kelso on a roadtrip he’s gonna get hungry and ask for some food lol The whole debate about where to eat was great and the scene at the drive thru held some truth and reality. Nice job there! Had to laugh at Betsy showing Kelso the proper way to eat lol, that was cute. Oo the mention of Leo and Kelso threatening to tell everyone what Leo had said Hyde had said really has me curious. With Leo there’s no telling what he remembered from that night and told Kelso about, but I’m secretly hoping it might be some part of the plan Hyd had about getting Jackie back.

Another roadtrip must have was a great way to end the chapter! The arguing over the music on the radio. Of Course Jackie would want ABBA (and I’d totally be on her side) but when Hyde and her start switching the channels back and forth I loved how Brooke’s solution was to give the Betsy’s favorite cassette, kids singing children’s songs lol. Can just imagine the scene of that car with the Itsy Bitsy Spider playing lol What a fun way to end the chapter! I loved it!

Incredible work once more I so enjoyed reading it! Looking forward to reading more and hope to do so again soon! Till then keep up the brilliant work!
killyem chapter 8 . 8/7/2018
I really LOVE that this fic abords Fez sexuality! Especially that Laurie is the one who helps him to come out (I ship it lol)

The scene with Laurie admiting her infertility was the first time the fic got truly heavy, but I could totally see it happening. Jackie has such a good heart, so empathetic of her to feel sorry towards someone who caused her so much pain...

Brooke is totally adorable, I love all of her interactions with Jackie. Ade is too, I’m missing her! I hope she shows up again in the next chapter.

I’m looking foward for more!
nannygirl chapter 5 . 8/5/2018
Another very terrific chapter this was!

Jackie and The Kelso’s getting stuck in a town that wasn’t Point Place, Oh no! Liked how the snow storm came back into play though in cancelling their flight. And the way Jackie tried to get them on another one, throwing around her work title and the lady wanting to know details of the show lol. Glad Jackie remains in work mode and knows she can’t spill any details but Kelso’s frustration and wanting Jackie to just say something was too funny and so very Kelso like. Also loved the bits about Jackie dreaming about winning an emmy and Donna writing a screen play for her life movie, that definitely seems like something Jackie would do lol

Kelso stole the scene though with his reactions to Anne’s suggestion of visiting a museum, they were just too funny and so like Kelso! “"What's with all these boring museums? Why can't you get something awesome, like antique cars, or a brewery, or...a bouncy castle! No! A real castle!” LOL! Oh Kelso!

When it sounds like they could be missing Red and Kitty’s party, it’s definitely some bad news but I’m glad Jackie called Kitty, she my not have had a plan but was sure Kitty would come up with one. And it’s interesting how Jackie already had a back up plan if Kitty didn’t, and that plan included calling Hyde’s family. The conversation over the phone with Kitty was great, like how the idea of taking the bus to Point Place was right away dismissed by everyone when remembering how far along Brooke was in her pregnancy. But yay! Someone is going to pick them up and as soon as Kitty said this, I was hoping she would have just one person in mind!

Loved the part where you went into Jackie’s thoughts about her life in LA, her job and every day life, and the vacation she would have taken if it wasn’t for the trip to Point Place, Mexico to go see what made her mother love it so much. When Jackie goes to get food at the end, gotta say I laughed at Kelso and his cookie bit, lol he’s a riot in this story of yours! I love it!

Yay! Fez in Point Place now too! The gang is almost all there, just missing Jackie and The Kelsos but they’ll be there soon especially with Hyde going to pick them up. Yay again! I was hoping he’d be the one who was given the task. And you gotta love that even thoughhe’s a bit hesitant about it, he really doesn’t put too much of fight of having to go through this snow storm to pick them up.

Wonderful writing on the parts with Hyde on the drive over thre. I loved how deep you got into his head and told us things about him that I never would have guessed but could now totally see having happened. Especially with his history of Edna and her own family, going to church with the Formans when he was younger. Then his thoughts about Adam, Jackie’s former boyfriend but it doesn’t seem like he really hates Adam, if anything it sounds like he’s more upset with Jackie, and it makes me realize why it seems to bother him so much when his family mentioned her around him. He’s still got some anger and maybe even hurt towards her…but having not seen her in so long I think maybe that’s caused some of this anger too. He’s mad at the memory of her, it’s been while since he’s seen her in the flesh, maybe things will change then. I’m certainly hoping so.

Loved to countdown of how much longer Hyde had on the drive, followed by the thoughts that filled his mind. The missing car seat for Betsy, not wanting to be alone with Jackie, his careful driving, and then when he gets closer to the airport and can see the familiar faces greeting him. Betsy and Kelso are adorable but his thoughts on seeing Jackie again, think I saw a bit of a spark! Meanwhile Jackie wondering why he wasn’t Eric lol, thought that was a great and clever way to end the chapter :D

Marvelous work once more! I so enjoyed reading it! Looking forward to reading more and I hope to do so again soon! Till then keep up the very great work!
