Wow, this fic is criminally underrated. It really hurts reading about the emotional rollercoster every character seems to have. So far, I love it! Hope it continues to update!

I read your story a while ago on Ao3 and it was still Grunts back then but I am glad I have found it here!
It's nice reading it again and I hope I'm not late to the party!
Anyway, that was a great chapter! I really love Owains PoV and hope we get to see more of that. Then the fleet and that Guiche used to be their leader... Nice little plottwist, I liked that! I also loved that little heart to heart between Gerome and Vaike. I always wanted to see your take on Gerones relationship with his past parents since it has always been... Less than ideal in the games. Let's see how this will continue
But the best part was definitely Donny and Risen Olivia. I always thought that, considering his powers, Gaius would be the first one to see the face of one of the risen-shepherds! But not it's Donny! That's awesome, I'm so excited to see how Donny will react to that!
Also just some thoughts I have that aren't all that important: is there a Risen Chrom or Risen Lissa? I mean they have the blood of Naga and all so maybe Grima can't bring them back as risens? But that's not important for now, we will see that in the future if they can be risens!

Owain being called Kieran like that sounds very Severa-y. Poor guy deserved it but ouch. I can totally see Owain carrying a kazoo. Some of the name drops are nice. Older FE games need awareness more attention. Or something like that.
Starting to like Brandon, but now he's got damage that sends you to the bench. F for him.

Woot! This is a really good chapter. Ricken absolutely killing Owain in the start was frikking hilarious to see, only made better with Vaike adding to it. So...pirates and Guiche himself used to lead them before they went rogue. That certainly wasn't something I expecting. And Vaike getting through to Gerome by mentioning Cynthia is honestly really sweet. So...Risen Olivia...at this point it is kinda obvious that all of the future fallen Shepherds were turned into Risen by Grima, so damn intrigued to see where that goes.

Been playing catch-up the past few weeks, but holy moly!
Sort of responding to all since I last read, so please bear with the unorganized and odd way of this review.
In a way I'm kind of glad that the Shepards are facing some losses. Battles can't go as a win for them all the time. I still want them to win the war and the heroes to be alive, but defeats are a thing they should have too.
Chrom's Tokyo mirage form but an actual living weapon was a shock to me personally. He was a lot more ruthless than when the story started, but dang. His power can really cause havoc.
Donnel's reactions to Owain were great! Yay for Owain and Morgan pairing! I like the goofballs that they are being together and why I decided Fates never had Owain there, haha! I've caught a few names being the same as characters in other games, and it's pretty awesome on that!
I know you can't give it away if it will or won't happen but
Please oh please oh please let the Shepard's be free of the god's "gifts" and their prices by the end! It's not at all right that they're suffering so that Grima dies (at least I think that's what the whole reason is why they've been cursed)!
Name change totally makes sense and it couldn't be rewrite forever

Woot! New chapter! And boy, this was well worth the wait. This gets added to the list of reread chapters, cause this is now one of my many favourites. Vaike gruelling into Lissa and Donnel at the start was scary to say at the least. And now onto Lissa herself. Holy shit...her price for being the arbiter of Horakathory is spine chilling. Sure, you make Lissa suffer, but for a power like hers and being the "eyes" for the High Gods it's actually justifiable and understandable. And at long last, not only Owain...but also Gerome arrive. I really liked the reunion between Lissa, Owain and Donnel. Lissa being happy he has the Brand, Donnel casually teasing his son for his "Owain-speak," is all really sweet. Gerome having Ylisee's most sexist jawline is bloody hilarious.

And for the asspull in the last scene, I await the next chapter in great anticipation.

Well... this was most certainly an interesting chapter. A lot of shit happened in this one chapter.

Really nice fluff bout with Lissa and Donnel at the start.

Now, onto Lissa herself. You really enjoy making characters suffer, don’t ya? But damn, Lissa’s “internal thoughts” on what is going on is interesting. It being relayed to her High God makes this a hell lot better, and then the Mark on her hand flaring up when she mellows in the conflicts she has take part of makes her entire dilemma more profound and impactful. Her losing control at the end was really interesting, and with Donnel also not being able to calm her down accentuates the disgust she shows towards the bandits.

Donnel’s exchange when he was selected by his High God is damn freaky.

And yes, Owain has finally been introduced. Really curious to see how Lissa and Donnel react to meeting their future son.

Loving the story already.

I will admit, Gaius truly surprised me in this chapter, finally I think I am beginning to understand his power or I could be still off the mark of his true potential, hard to say. But I love how he and the Shade have kept Chrom, Sumia, Frederick, and Nowi all safe without a single one noticing anything during the dinner and when splitting up on missions until the never ending waves shit started.

I must say it's definitely new how these ones bleed, but vanish like Risen... What sort of trick did Grima do to it's forces. Clearly Grima is a MUCH bigger threat in this story than canon portrays more and more by the chapters.

As for the Sorceress, I find it funny she called the past version of her own husband uncouth while fighting him, but go figure she played him so well. Two words and she had him rushing in a panic to Maribelle's side to check on her, even almost getting eaten by the serpent of what I assume to be some sort of Shadow Realm? Whatever it is, it's tied close to the light that leads to Maribelle and I doubt that is a coincidence.

The remaining Shades and Frederica have held their ground to protect Chrom, Sumia, and Anisette was very well fought, but brutal no matter which way you put it. All those bodies and blood... Good thing Sumia stepped in once it was made abundantly clear they made it clear to Anisette that they didn't care for her sense of honor or her family's honor. They lost allies for that truth, allies the shepherds need.

Thankfully things went well for Frederick and Nowi too with Sigmus after the Shades guarding them did their job and helped Frederick and Nowi return in one piece. Now the Shepherds have some supplies heading their way every now and then with a liaison in Anisette. All in all, a hard won alliance.

Another amazing and fun to read chapter as always I'm also quite worried that Lucina will lose her leg as that would likely take right of any sort of fighting and she's built herself up to be a warrior for most of her life that would be quite the shock to her I imagine if she just lost the ability to fight like that I hope she hasn't lost her leg but it does make for some good tension.
