This is so sweet on so many levels!

I opened this thinking the premise sounded interesting - how would a Slytherin with no great love of snakes manage? Inside it, I was blown away by the quality of the writing! It works very well as a slice of life in the castle during a difficult time - the bit with Nott soothing the first year, Daphne and Astoria trusting each other enough for Astoria to admit what she’s doing, Astoria doing what she’s doing at all, the discussion of their father’s loyalties - but could also serve as an excellent segue into a longer story about the world of Slytherin students during the war.

I'm a writer and staff member at a Harry Potter universe creative writing RPG which involves all original characters and I feel you'd fit in well.
