Reading this again after reading Ch.89, I wonder why the Sandaime is returning to his villainous ways in handling Kichiro...

I am now interested in this and I love it

I've always had a soft spot for well written second POV. Using it to explain the nuances and subtlety in Sarutobi's reasoning, feelings, thoughts, and how human you've made his character was a really good idea. This is the only fic I've read that portrays Sarutobi as the ultimate, indisputable dictator he's supposed to be. Other fics kinda touch on it a little like showing that his grandfatherly image is a facade for his sharp intelligence, but ultimately has Sarutobi showing favoritism/letting things go that realistically wouldn't happen in an actual ninja-dictatorship society. However, this does not stop me from being frustrated and so utterly done with his and everybody's shit. I feel like the majority, if not all, of Konoha shinobi would be okay with the Hokage giving some leeway with Kichiro when he's obviously making things better for everyone. Only people who I can see having issues are people like Danzo (but he's already softened up a bit), the Daimyo, and maybe some civilians and clan members. But no one can deny that he does so damn much for everyone so they can suck it.

I'm really fucking conflicted. I was so glad when Kichiro and Sarutobi mended their relationship during this period and this extra chapter is so lovely but after the most recent chapters? Literally all these people suck.

I hope this the only time you try writing in second person...i have always found it to be uncomfortable reading. Still, keep up the good work. All these glimpses from other pov are quite awesome! )

Nice chapter, although a little strenuous to read from that perspective it was alright. I would italicise and separate the "voices" to different paragraphs, to make reading easier on the eyes. Since as they are right now, the paragraphs of texts are huge in comparison to what the average paragraphs were in the previous chapter.

My only concern is that anyone reading this without sufficient proficiency of English, or English being their third or second language, would find the change of perspective a little tricky/challenging to understand.

This one was kinda weird, and it felt sort of unnecessary, but I can't complain since it was a more chill chapter. Also I thought that since it's chapter 64 where major shit happened, there wouldn't be "filler" content in the side-chapters. Did you upload the wrong chapter by mistake?

This chapter just felt so... Odd

Was it really necessary to use the second person view for this chapter? I'd be honest, it would certainly have been a much better chapter to me were it in a first or a third person view, preferably a first person pov.

Really felt odd at the recurring use of the f word. That's definitely not something I feel that fits in there seamlessly.

Overall a decent chapter, but not exactly what I've come to expect when I read one of your updates. Hopefully you switch back next chapter :P

This chapter really resonated with me. The fact that no one thought to have this talk with Kushina until she brought it up in confusion at the age of 18 is horrifying. Didn't she get raped when she was 8?

My parents never gave me the sex talk even thought my mom is a doctor. I learned about puberty in school and church youth programs. I love to read so I learned more about the actions and feelings from adult fantasy novels. I learned of pregnancy and contraceptives in a child development class in high school. I learned about non-vanilla sex from fanfiction. My parents never talked to me about anything and I find that so wrong. I think they assumed that I wouldn't have sex until I got married so they didn't worry about explaining it to me. I sort of expected some sort of talk right before my wedding but still nothing, although I was pre-med so they may have assumed that I already knew everything. It was negligent on there part.

The thing is that my parents did not grow up in America but in a conservative country where the sexual revolution has only just started. They were not given these talk so they didnt giving it to their kids. I grew up going to American public high schools where there was at least one pregnant girl every year. Negligent

You have already stated that you prefer writing in the third person, so you are to be commended for the attempt you made. If you should chose to try again you should look for another word for you. This chapter and this review have too many yous.

In all seriousness I did enjoy the insight, but yes I think you over used that word.

I like how classifying every shinobi as a tool is so natural to the Sandaime that it doesn‘t even appear in his thought process and he ends up being surprised that Kichiro gets angry when he says it out loud :D
It was clear from reading the main story that Hiruzen is at least wary of Kichiro but here he seems genuinely terrified of him - makes it very interesting to read.

Minato seems to have changed a lot between a couple of years before the third war and the massacre he committed with Kichiro together. You also hinted that he doesn‘t have deep insight into the Uzumaki way of thinking despite being so close to Kushina.
A sidestory from his perspective has some potential I think if you feel a writing muse for it.
