| midnitereader chapter 1 . 9/28/2017 Sati is such a barbaric practice. Women really had no rights at this time. They were told what to do and how to live their life. The thought that they had to have a husband when they were of such a young age when they hadn't even reached puberty is so sad. And to be married to an old man who they maybe would only see once or twice in a year of their lifetime, only to be burned on a funeral pyre without even having a chance at living is horrible. I wonder if this is still practiced somewhere in the world. |
