I don't know if it's only me, but I felt the entire thing was too abrupt. Little build-up for the "everything was all a mask I am a sociopath huehuehue". So much for change. My immersion was lost, and I am hesitant in continuing to read, but I will stay for now.

Ahhh, I see that Hachiman is overanalyzing everything again. And here I thought he had already went through his epiphany. Didn't he decide to stop wearing a facade and stop trying to meet everyone's expectations after his first year. You know, the reason why he became more unapproachable in his second year.

Also I find it dumb, that Hachiman, the oh monster of logic and master of observing human social interactions doesn't realize that people can "rub" off on each other. Meaning that in each and everyone of his facades is an aspect of a person he considered important enough to influence his own way of thinking. That means that his facades are not entirely facades and are all partial truths of himself.

The problem he is having right now is the same problem Ebina had with her relationships in the canon. It's a problem that everyone has when dealing with different type of friends. Like how you have a group of friends that are jocks and another group of friends are nerds.

If anything, what Hachiman has is not a number of facades, but a number of personas. But anyway, I think Hachiman's existential crisis is him just being an overanalyzing emo and not truly understanding how people change one another. He doesn't really understand that when forming relationships with other people, that sometimes you unconsciously pick up the traits of the other person.

So in a way, Hachiman is misinterpreting his very own "character development" as something else entirely and is struggling come to terms with his own changes. Which I find weird because Hachiman had resolved himself to not being the same as his old pathetic self. By doing so though he had tried to meet the expectations pushed onto himself by others, which he also resolved by deciding to not meet other people's expectations thus him be more distanced in his second year

Anyway all these mental gymnastics you're kinda doing to recreate a problem that Hachiman himself has already internally resolved. If anything maybe this is just a mcguffin for you to take the story towards the "I want something genuine" scene.

Anyway I just want to add, that if anyone can see that Hachiman is wearing multiple facades, it should be "best grill Koma-cheese" who can see through it. After all she knows him best.

Anyway gonna repeat myself here, but Hachidude needs to stop overanalyzing everything. He's just going through the phase of "developing character" for himself and is just being dumb and thinking he has started to develop facades. That's the thing with human interaction, forming relationships with people can cause a person to pick up some of that other person's traits. Ah I see now, you're trying to pair him up with Haruno so you're making him more like her so their relationship will have something to build upon.

Anyways as always, I see that someone's mad that, best grill after Koma-cheese, Yukino-tan, is canon shipping huh? I can feel the hate for her as I always. Let me feed off the hatred, anguish, and despair of all those sunken ships! Sugoi Yooo!

Please fix the last chapter(45) and just for making him saved by kawasaki you made him 10000 times shittier than hayama and there is not a bit character left in him just like exist for being edgy please not worth for making him ship with kawasaki not that I like but in his state only yukinoshita had a chance to fix him or reach him but you make her fall even if she should have figured out his mask at least thinking about something wrong (she has experience with hayama and haruno) but noooo you made her sniff him XD I waited for her to boldly trying to learn about him but no she is feeling guilty because of some sort of joke that he take far too seriously just for that time. Just don't make kawasaki greater in your head and fix that chapter 45 please.

I do understand everything about kawasaki and OOC part of his character also understand he don't see yukinoshita as a friend but lmao why he is so disgust with her isn't that too much? She and Saki doesn't know true Hachiman(our lovely loner not bad though) but something fake but if he show his true self in the start or now yukinoshita has more chance than kawasaki, Kawasaki not that outcast or some sort of different character, she is not even unique, what make her speacial her in Canon she had ability of a knowledge Hachiman's existence but know that's impossible because Hachiman not like that more like reverse popular and etc. For know in this fic only special thing about her she is not like normies, youth guys, team hayama, and everyone

Yukinoshita also in wrong path but she might be fine with loner hachi in the end loner hachi best thing about Hachiman, also yukinoshita taking slow and trying to develop something (not that it works) but not accepted by Hachiman if in future Hachiman show his real self and want something genuine it's impossible with kawasaki she is too effected by mask of Hachiman and might be disappointed and broken by truth but in Yukinon's case she will figure it out how good is loner hachi thanks to self loathing character even Hachiman doesn't know that (in Canon he is fully aware but not here self loathing in here utterly different level good job with doing that I didn't know it's possible)

I’m sorry author but I don’t think I’m going to be able to continue reading this story. I knew from early on that this story would be AU and Hachiman would be OOC, but this is just too much. You’re trying to tell me that his “Path to Reformation” is to become a borderline sociopath? Wtf?! This thing really came out of left field. You dropped little hints throughout the story that he might not be totally genuine in some of his interactions, but I never thought you’d take it this far. This Hachiman is literally someone that the canon Hachiman would absolutely loathe. This character doesn’t even feel like Hachiman anymore. The fact that you’ve made basically everything about him to be fake and that he keeps manipulating everyone really cheapens him as a whole. I found this story about a year and a half ago and I’ve been really invested in it since, but I just can’t anymore, I’m sorry. Still, even though I won’t continue reading it, I wish you good luck with the future of this story.

The title seems contradictory now. I don't know if I'm looking forward to another chapter.

If this is really how Hachiman feels regarding his everyday life and interactions, I think it would be for the best if he consults with a psychologist immediately. Just from reading his internal monologue, I can already tell that he is suffering from a deep trauma-based mental illness. I don't know what it is called, but he is suffering under some serious mental problems. Faking everything? Feeling literally nothing? Being emotionally empty? The way he manipulates people and puts up a convincing mask in front of them, I feel like these are signs of Sociopathy. Please direct your Hachiman to a Psychologist since this is not healthy. NOT. HEALTHY.
