I love how snarky Jason is, and how sarcastic Rory can be. I love how she’s strong and independent but also knows when to lean on her friends. I love how Jason isn’t above admitting mistakes but that he works to get past them. I really hope Dick and Bruce make up - I bet Alfred and Jason would sit them both down and make them get it over with lol.

The character development is wonderful, the dialogue hilarious, the mystery spellbinding, the theater kids ACCURATE, and all so perfectly woven together! Keep writing!

My heart! Ahh! I love this story! Jason is my favorite DC character! I’m glad to come across this story, since most Jason/OC fanfics I see get to the relationship too quickly (but I don’t hate it, just enjoy reading my boy). I like seeing this Jason prior to being tortured by Joker and prior to becoming Red Hood, which btw I’m afraid but stoked to see how his “death” and new outlaw persona comes into play of this fanfic, and I’ll be crying about how Rory will react. I like that Jason is still Robin and still a teen who is reckless, hot tempered, and angsty.

I love the development of Rory and Jason just becoming friends and they both secrets in their lives. I like a slow-burn story to relax and read.

I hope this story can continue. I want to see the Homecoming dance. I’m imagining Dick making fun of Jason willing to putting on a tux to go to a school dance, and Jason just glaring at him, already having enough anger to radiate lol. And I wonder how Jason will react of Rory wearing a pretty dress.

THIS IS SUCH A GOOD STORY, AHH! (And again I say: AHHHHHH!) You're doing SUCH a great job on all the characterizations, it's genuinely a joy to read each and every character, they're all so lively and fun and the non-bratty ones are so adorable.

I also love how you handle Jason and Rory - it really made me smile last chapter how it wasn't Rory saying she thought they were going to homecoming together that he was fixed on - it was her saying he's her best friend. I thought that was so sweet how much that meant to Jason, and he wasn't fixating on wanting "more~" or w/e. And how Rory didn't backpedal or make assumptions or get nervous or anything when she saw he was affected by it, she was so matter-of-fact and sure about her friendship with Jason and ahhh, I just love it so much! I think it adds so much to their relationship that they're really BFFs and makes it feel so real and sweet to me, how you've really developed them as friends first and foremost, you can really feel how much these two care about each other and it really elevates it above standard romance fics. (And I say this as someone who admittedly generally avoids fics with pairings like the plague and just wanted to read a fic with mah boi Jayjay, so please know I really mean it as a compliment - I ship the fuck out of Rory/Jason as friends and as a couple.)

Which brings me to the other thing I really love about this - how much interaction and development in his relationships Jason also gets with Bruce, Alfred, Dick, and now even the Theater Kids! Not only does it make me grin like a loon to read Jason and Dick being brothers and Bruce dadding on them (his excitement over bb boy Jason finally making a friend was so cute and hilarious, omg) and Alfred momming on them, but I was so happy for Jason that he also got to expand his friend collection and how happy he was about it. It's so awesome that you have Rory and Jason the center of the plot, but they don't REVOLVE around each other, you know what I mean? Your love and respect for all these characters, canon and original, shines through in your writing.

Onto the plot! I'm curious about how - if at all - the fire connects to the arrival of Rory's family. I have a feeling her dad and/or stepmom are involved - the dad seems imposing enough that I could buy him being mixed up in criminal activity, but then once he gets caught that'd leave Rory with the stepmom, who doesn't seem the type who'd turn over a new leaf and be a wonderful, responsible, loving, nurturing parent to Rory... she could very easily end up without a family, so I kinda hope it's stepmom behind the dad's back for Rory's sake. I'm also curious about how Jason's and Rory's dates are going to go - Cassidy will probably act all handsy with Jason in public to make Jockdude jealous, can see Jason shrugging it off or going with it to mess with Jockdude, and I'm sure Jockdude's going to try to repay the favor and... ughhh he might try to hook up with her to get even with Jason about sleeping with Cassidy, huh? Gross. I was wondering if once she got over the shock of having that sprung on her Rory would call him out on how he was using her to upset Jason/how it wasn't cool how he pressured her into going with him, but he was obviously willing to physically attack and gang up on Jason, so confronting him sounds like a bad idea... maybe he and Cassidy can both randomly be responsible for the arson so they can just get arrested together and stop messing with my kids lol

(I'm also admittedly kind of looking forward to seeing Batfam's reaction when they learn he has a date but it's not Rory. There's so much juicy high school drama they have to be caught up on.)

I love this sooooo much! There are so few fics with pre death Jason out there where he has a love interest! Actually there aren’t many Jason/oc fics AT ALL!

Ahhh so I always go back and read the second to last chapter before I read an updated one and was SO confused when I was reading chapter 7 lol. I thought I skipped a whole bunch last time! I’m glad we got more to read tho! Love what you’re doing and look forward to more!

Small correction, but Jason’s birth mother is Sheila Haywood, not Catherine todd. So Sheila would be the one bringing Jason in to the world, not Catherine. Though I guess you can take from another continuity when Catherine was his mother,p because she and Willis wanted to sell him. Or something like that.
