Gosh... I pretty much read this three times in a row; the whole atmosphere of it was just beautiful. I loved your characterisation of the younger Claus - he's exactly how I imagine him, as opposed to other characterisations of him being brash and disagreeable. And the wistful way in which Lucas talks, his anger and sadness, and how he believes he was too jaded to have done a good job passing on his heart - they all just hit me right in the core. The last part where Lucas finally breaks down was honestly cathartic, and I even got choked up in the last two sentences. Gahh I'm not very good at reviews, but just know that I loved this a lot, and I'm not okay after reading it... Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful writing with this fandom.
