oooh another great story. I really like the angle you've gone with here, I never would have thought of it, but it works so beautifully. I like all the added bits, but my fave is of course the one at the end. it just gave me the best bromance feels

Oh, mate, ya killin' me with all the brotherly feels. I've found my new obsession, too. Merlin and Arthur must hug! The show never really gave us a scene with Merlin hugging Arthur, which I totally think is an outrage! They're just...meant to hug!

i really like this idea - that arthur wanted merlin with him that night, and knew what would draw him to follow... i mean, there's definitely the sense that arthur realized, merlin would /know/ what he'd done, after the night's events, but it's nice to think it was premeditated, at the castle even, rather than just something arthur allows b/c merlin's already halfway there when he discovers him following...
i also like merlin realizing that this was the reason for arthur behaving badly to his servant - and i think the best line was merlin saying, i might have done this too, if i had been born and raised camelot royalty... i appreciate that better than merlin nodding and agreeing, yeah /i/ would never have done that...
