What great dialogue! Great job.

I was wondering how the hellothere I missed this, then realised it was while I was over in Canada, so that's my excuse.
What a wonderful, convoluted conversation between two friends; unintentional offending, easy forgiveness, attempts to make it up, more faux pas... you have it flowing beautifully (couldn't find an un-watery word there) and what a marvellous last line!

This is such a heart-warming story. I've always loved fics that show Ducky tending to one of the team. You capture his and Tony's voices each so perfectly here (although Tony does seem to call him by name a few too many times) - I totally heard "I am also not prone to being swayed by flattery" and other lines in David McCallum's voice. You also get the relationship between them just right - Ducky's concern and sympathy for him come through despite his curt orders and occassional shortness. The friendship between them is never overt, but it's always there. Wonderful work.

Lol, I’ve always referred to mine as “pond colored.” I’d have to say, however, that I don’t agree about the color of his eyes. This was a bit angsty, as you said. But Ducky’s right, it’s a calling. (And while we didn’t see that here, when we DO see that marvelous brain in action... well, there’s nothing quite like it!)

Lovely story. I think MW has very beautiful eyes. I just read an article recently where he said something to the effect that he just knew he had over stayed his welcome his last few years. I do think the writers wasted his character. Oh well, life goes on and I think he's quite happy with his new life and show.

You write Ducky quite well. We know Pauley is leaving this year. I wonder if he'll retire soon.
