I have to give you props for your detail in writing. Your attention to detail and colorful description really sells it on how Jaune is feeling and what he is thinking. So you're doing a great job delving into his thoughts and exploring his feelings on his personal matters as well as friends. My personal favorite could either be how he laments on his past and some of his failings, or how you word Jaune's thoughts involving Yang, which really helps show how he is getting attached to Yang. It has me wondering if you plan on Jaune reminiscing of more moments between him and Yang in the past. Of course I am looking forward to how they can bond in future chapters.

I do agree with some of the other reviewers on how meeting Ruby was rather underwhelming. I'm not going to explain what could be wrong as I'm sure you already got an earful from other readers. However, I will play devil's advocate and guess why you went this route. Throughtout the entire story you wrote how Ruby was stressed with being a huntsman. She has been lacking hours of sleep, not eating properly, hardly been socializing, stayed in her apartment for awhile, and more that all explain that Ruby is consumed with work and not entirely herself. So when Jaune finally meets her, perhaps she doesn't have the energy to greet him as per Ruby-fashion, or she isn't all the way and might think Jaune isn't actually there thanks to her condition.

I'm seriously curious whats your plan for the next chapter as I am deeply invested. I look forward to the next chapter.

while i rather like yang/jaune as a concept, calling the ship dragonslayer reminds me of Berserk, which is not imagery you want likened to a romance fic

Why wasn’t there any response from Ruby to seeing Jaune? If they haven’t seen each other in a long while then Ruby, of all people, seems like the type to really overreact to him showing up at her door out of nowhere.
