or like maybe Kronos gets Apollo and traps him and Artemis is terrified and Percy helps her through it and then he tosses her apple when they're at an apple tree and he doesnt know what it means but she does and he doesnt understand why she gets so flustered.

you could like introduce I think it was Calypso and have Percy convince her that she shouldn't help them. And then she gets trapped by her father Atlas and she holds up the Sky and then Percy and Artemis hold it up until Calypso can trap him back under it. Like the scene in the books but different.

Perhaps Future Kronos could free this time periods Kronos? And maybe Percy could begin to use his Poseidon powers and then maybe bond with his old man.

The best I idea I can come up with is try re-reading the story and see the kind of direction it can take?
