Reviews for Harry's accidental rescue
Bronze chapter 1 . 7/26
Of course ol' Fumblemort couldn't understand! He'd become too self-centered to even notice the suffering he caused! Now much as I've said they should nuke Vultureworst, it's really a bad idea in reality. Nukes are really dirty weapons. Depending on whether you're using Atomic or Hydrogen ones just how bad they are. I think it was during the 60s that the idea of Stimulating natural gas wells with nukes came up. It was tried with unexpected and unacceptable results. Depending on which was used how radioactive the gas became. The Hydrogen bomb one was much worse than the Atomic one. The Atomic bomb one you could burn off the radiation where as the Hydrogen bomb one you couldn't. Now as I understand it the small town/village/hamlet of Little Hangleton is something like easy walking distance from the old Riddle Manor. So, if you nuke the manor you also nuke the other. And people don't normally want to live on such a site. Though I wouldn't put it past any government to lie through their teeth about what really happened.

I've just re-read this and enjoyed it again but it still breaks my heart that harry gave away his precious firebolt.
kimjo2 chapter 1 . 7/6
What fun! Well written. Thanks so much
phoenix-rob chapter 1 . 4/13
Just found this story and loved it. Go Moody for being so very supportive.
stevem1 chapter 1 . 4/12
A good short.
ripper34 chapter 1 . 2/9
Good story
rswknight chapter 1 . 2/4
Such a ridiculously fun idea from a dark beginning. Nice work
Ellie chapter 1 . 1/15
Great story, I like the ending too. I like the part that Dumbles died in prison not knowing what was going on and what had been done, perfect punishment for someone who was at the certre of things and knew so much for so long.
Right What Is Wrong chapter 1 . 1/10
"Harry didn't quite see why one man would fancy another, but some did and Vernon thought it was disgusting so it must be a good thing. "
Heh, this is pretty much how I suspect Harry would view homosexuality in canon...

"I'd have left you the Map and my invisibility cloak, but I need them to get to where I'm heading to kill myself."
F&G: This is very tragic, but why do you need those two to jump off the Astronomy Tower?

Actually, all someone like Harry would need is his Firebolt. Go straight up in the air as far as it can go, then let go. It would also be the easiest method to make look like an accident if he felt like it.

""Merlin's beard! Is there no end to the number of known deatheaters you harbour in your school, headmaster?" she demanded.

"Now, Amelia, calm down. It appears that the man I thought was my old friend was indeed a death eater under polyjuice, and one we thought dead, at that.""
I want to congratulate you on excellent comedy that is just the characters being IC. Lucky Amelia, not knowing that he outright harbored VOLDEMORT in his school in first year.

Dumbledore: I mistake my old friends for Death Eaters under Polyjuice all the time! Or is it that I mistake Death Eaters for my old friends under Polyjuice? Do you remember, Gellert?
Snape: I don't even want to know who you think I am right now.

"She allowed three dragons for the first task, but all common Welsh greens, and not nesting mothers at that. The second task she vetoed out of hand as far too dangerous to the hostages who had definitely not put their names in the Goblet, and discriminating against Fleur, since her magic would be dangerously dampened in more ways than one in cold water, and the tentative idea of using her sister could kill the child. The wording of the riddle was also guaranteed to put the contestants under undue stress, believing that someone they loved would die if they could not complete a stupid competition. Amelia decreed an artificial island to be made on rafts, and the contestants had to use spell work to enable them to fetch an item from it. As for the third task, she just scored lines through some of the creatures.

"How on earth are they supposed to find acromantulas that size anyway?" she demanded of Auror Trainee Tonks.

"Oh, in the Forbidden Forest, there's millions," said Nymphadora. "What? I've served enough detentions there, I should know, Hagrid's pet Aragog is their king and he's about the size of a muggle car.""
THANK YOU.

Nesting mothers is insane if dragons are anything like regular animals. The hostages are not consenting parts of the Tournament - does that mean that the Tournament organizers reserve the right to kidnap anyone they like at will? And acromantulas in the Forbidden Forest is INSANE. (I take 'millions' as an exaggeration.) I'll concede Hagrid keeps them under control, but what happens if anything happens to Hagrid? Man-Eating Spider Apocalypse?

"Harry, laddie, it's self-contained, which is why you aren't actually possessed or insane."
Brilliant. I figure the pain Harry keeps feeling is actually the blood protection kicking in. The Horcrux tries to make inroads, immediately gets blasted by Lily's protection, and desists. Yes, it hurts, but it hurt like hell when his hands were on Quirrell too.

Great oneshot. Lunar Harmony is a nice and unexpected bonus.
Kai chapter 1 . 12/18/2019
I think, and it's lots and lots of stories that make that mistake, that cleaning the chute to the Chamber of Secrets is a markedly stupid idea. In my opinion it's a bit like anal sex. If you remove whatever lubrication is there it's just gonna be painful. Friction burns come to mind in this case here. It might be disgusting to slide down such a filthy pipe but at least you don't have your skin ripped off your body.
RevDorothyL chapter 1 . 11/26/2019
Awww...! Sweet. :)
Guest chapter 1 . 11/20/2019
I don't think it was a good idea to give the firebolt to krum, someone he scarcely knew. It would make more sense to keep it along with the map and cloak, as he could conceivably need it to get to his place of suicide, and more realistically he might need it for his escape with moody. I don't think Harry would be able to part with something sirius had given him, and something that was obscenely expensive.
Rebmul chapter 1 . 10/31/2019
I love this story and I would love to see more like it
Ravenclaw-Slytherin-Erudite chapter 1 . 10/3/2019
This was very well written. I loved the way you protrayed Alastor as both a hardened auror but still human, not many people do that successfully.
Tatum Grimes chapter 1 . 10/3/2019
