Thank you for this! Shuhei has always been a favorite of mine. I like Shinji's perspective, too. I have to agree with him: Shuhei is adorable! The dynamic between the two of them is a fun contrast. Also, it's nice to see Shuhei written without Kensei, as much as I like the two. It just feels like they're written as joined-at-the-hip, sometimes.

So they stayed a few days and then got home? How much did they get to show Naruto? Loved it, just sad it wasn't a chaptered story. Poor bewildered Hayate.

That would be one hell of a canon difference. Would be hilarious if Naruto actually found a sword that could speak to him like a zanpaktou. I'm curious about all the little details like how Shinji and Shuuhei's stay in Konoha transpired and whether Kensei actually went after Shinji for loosing his lieutenant but I'm loving it for it's short and sweetness. Shinji's crush on Shuuhei is so cute!
