Pretty good fic. Too bad there was never a part two, since this drastically changes RWBY canon in an interesting way.

Okay, so bottom line... this fic was AMAZING. I practically rushed through most of it and read the first three quarters of it on a single day before I had to busy myself with other stuff, and then finished it on the next day.

No, but seriously, I think this is the best Prismatic Ponytails fic I've read yet. Both Weiss and Ilia were absolutely awesome through the story, and their portrayal was fenomenal. I'm inevitably more into Weiss’s, since she's my favorite of the show, and I love how brave, determined, competent and heroic you've presented her. I also love that you took her out of her element and comfort zone (having had to spend like two weeks with no personal hygiene, stuck with a White Fang member, and all that) to challenge her. I just love it.

It actually left me wanting for more in some areas, if I may say so. Like, wondering how they dealt with answering nature's calls with no bathrooms available, or hoping we'd see them hunt for food and then cook it to feed themselves after they got out of the caves. Just thought these situations would be good for further exploring the characters, like maybe have Ilia taunt Weiss about how unused to these things she must be, only to be surprised at how well the former heiress takes to it all, defying her expectations (at least partially).

Regarding Ilia, I've got nothing negative to say, but I was left also hoping there maybe would be more exploration of her background, something original beyond all that Canon already told us. Like, what if Ilia and Weiss had already met each other back when Weiss used to study in Atlas? Just a thought. Also, at times it felt like maybe she should have been more conflicted about having to fight the White Fang. Like, kinda weird that she never came across someone she might have known, maybe then having to solve a fight through means that are not fighting.

But that aside, the fic's great, and I love how you incorporated the plot of Grimm Eclipse (Well, what little plot it had) into the adventure. Caught me off guard, but it worked really well for progressing the story.

I feel like I must say, sadly, that the action was a mixed bag for me. Sometimes it was fluent enough and it actually made me visualize something that would belong in RWBY, but other times, it honestly felt like it dragged on too much, or sometimes it felt like a certain action scene wasn't really needed (the fight against the Goliath perhaps being the biggest offender, I'm afraid, plus, the whole thing about Weiss’s weapon backfired and that somehow working for good felt like too much suspension of disbelief, and I feel like it would have been actually cooler if Weiss genuinely sacrificed her weapon there and then). It wasn't anything that ruined the story for me, but I'm afraid that at times, it made reading through action sequences more of a chore than a joy...

But all that said and done, however, this was still a wonderful fic. I love how you pushed the characters to their limits and had them come out stronger for it. I love how you handled their romance, unlikely as it was, happening slowly but oh so certain (and I had such a smile on my face when they finally kissed! X3). I love how you handed Ruby, Blake and Yang mourning Weiss when they thought she was dead. And oh boy, I love that you had Weiss defeat Adam and have Blake and Yang come out of that unscathed!

There are a few more things I could mention, but I feel like they'd be just nitpicks. Structure feels wonky at times and truth be told, the ending felt like it was lacking a proper climax outside of the fight with Adam, but at least the epilog was really good and certainly left me hoping for more.

So overall, thanks a lot for writing and sharing the best fic with this ship I've read in quite a while. If you wish for any more feedback, don't hesitate to message me and ask for it.

Gonna be hundred with you bro. You fucked me up something fierce. I was literally just reading crack fics and came across this and next thing I knew I was huddled up with the popcorn and dp. I got invested and now am sadd that I have to wait forever before the sequel. Not gonna complain though. I'm a patient human and shit takes a while to roll out, especially with how much quality is here. God bless and good luck with college fan.

Anyway: this story has been a beautiful trip down love lane, at the corner with desperation avenue. The way you picture the "Volume 4" of this story makes me want to read it, but... You know... It's not there... Hopefully yet, but it's not there.

You have made me come to really enjoy this pairing. Thanks for writing everything you have so far.
