This is a pretty good story! You have a plan where to take it, avoid typical pitfalls, you are not forgetting anything important (like character development) and the battles are decent.
I look forwards to see where you are going to take it.

Amusingly, Ash' bad luck can be taken advantage of by the Champion if they want to catch those Hunters. If I was in Cynthia's position I'd probably let someone powerful shadow him, preferably someone with a flier that can at least match Salamence.

However, in terms of technical writing there is some room for improvement - for example, you're not writing out numbers below hundred fully, and you sometimes let different characters speak within the same alinea, which can be a little confusing.

I just found this fic and I need to give you props. This is definitely one of the better pokemon fics I have seen. I can't think of a better AshxDawn fic, and this is perhaps my favorite pairing, so thanks for that.

Things you have been doing wrll, that I rarely see in other fics. Ash isn't an idiot. His pikachu is as strong as a six year starter should be (though that gyarados and evil lapras should have been curbstomped by pikachu). The pokemon that Ash has from the past are pretty awesome, but dont roll over the vym leaders A team ( a tricky bit of balancing, getting Ash's pokemon to seem as strong as they should be, but still giving Ash a challenge).

All in all, I have to say I am really enjoying your work. Thanks for being awesome.

For ome reason I really expected Dawn to als Paul's Starly to travel with her. Especially after that reaction to pokemon being released.

I like Altaria's mega, I just HATE how it looks. I do like the power boost it gives though, considering I have an Altaria that can Mega in Pokemon Astra on ROBLOX. I completely agree that the form looks bad.
