Cabe seems cool. I love his personality and backstory. I hope he makes it farther than Ruby.

I forgot to mention, another reason I dislike Ruby is because her name is so cliche. Names such as Diamond, Silk, and Gemma. If I see these names, I will scream.

Ruby: Not a big fan of her. The trope where a Career takes another volunteer's spot as it feels like it shouldn't be allowed annoys me so much. She seems like your stereotypical District 2 tribute. I mean, nothing against her but she's not super unique.

Cabe: Love his name. I love his personality and backstory. However, the thing about him that doesn't sit right with me is having a father and two brothers as Victors as it seems unrealistic. I think it's possible he may be Argent's killer, but it could be a coincidence. Other than that, he's a pretty fleshed-out character and I can see him going far.

This was a nice chapter. I enjoy your writing style, it is very eloquent and coherent. This shows me that you're developing into a professional writer. Anyways, my opinions.

Alan: He's seems like a genuinely nice, considerate, and charming guy, but I feel as if he's a little too good to be true. His relationship with his father is not my favourite but I have to give him credit for keeping his cool.

Chandra: She's pretty basic. All I've got from her is that her brother died in a previous Hunger Games, which results in her being a loner and missing him dearly. I have to say, I abhor tributes whose siblings have died in a Hunger Games as it is very cliché. Volunteering in a Career district to avenge a sibling's death is one thing but having them die a few years ago and to have their relative reaped bores me.

The story so far is really good! The characters are awesome.. District 1 definitely looks like a winner district woohoo but I could see my character being held back to the health issues! Waiting for the games to begin! Great job Charlie! :)

Sorry this is a day or so late! Now we have our first career district. Good Careers are the cornerstone of most SYOT, if you don't have good compelling careers then it'll make the story harder to write, since the careers are who most of the action comes from in the arena and the training center. Mostly all career reapings are the same, both are super tough and believe that they can win no problem. These two tributes are no exception.

Ruby, i want to know more about her friend before i develop my opinion. I know when she explained some things about him in her eulogy, but i want more. My college English professor always said, when you're writing something, if you think you're done, try and go deeper. I want to know more about her parents and her friends, and relationship with her boyfriend. As for her skills? Well she seemed to break a girls nose no problem, so she'll be as fierce as any other career girl. Very early prediction for her, is 2nd to last career dead.

Cabe, he's very just blah so far for me tbh. I'm sure that we're going to get more in-depth soon and i'm sure that that opinion ill change. You can't have a family like his and not have some sort of internal conflict. It would be boring if he was just a big brutish career who liked killing and nothing else, i'm sure he has a deeper side to him. However, as of now he just seems like that one arrogant career who will let his arrogance get him killed. Very early prediction, that guy who carves his way through everything, and makes it really really far, but ends up getting killed by an underdog tribute.

Not a huge fan of Ruby because I feel like she's just trying to hard to be different. She is... extremely different to Bluebell. I don't like how she volunteered in place of another girl. She just seems to much like your stereotypical District 2 career almost. I mean she is not a stereotypical D1 girl but she's for sure not super unique.

Cabe is super cool! I really like him. His name and backstory are very unique and I really enjoy him :)

Ruby: I really like her. I like that she's not spoliled or bloodthirsty. I like her personality and her relationship with Culinan. I also really like her backstory and I think she has a solid reason to volunteer. I think she will really go far.

Cabe: I'm conflicted on this guy. I like his personality and relationship with his family. But the main thing that's bringing him down for me is that this father and brothers are victors. I would be ok if it's just his dad, but with his brothers, it just makes it unrealistic for me. I think it's possible he may also be Argent's killer too. I'm neutral on him, but I think he will go far.

Cabe doesn't seem like he's doing much on personality and seems like a bit plain but hey we need a few of those not everyone needs to be insane
Ruby is a firecracker that I want to see how well she'll do I'm not gonna do a chart but liking D1 so far!

As others have said, the transitions were great this chapter. Seamlessly going from one to the other was a great way to handle this chapter. I'm not going to comment on Ruby, since she's mine, but Cabe was alright. He seems like your typical Career so far.
