I wonder if 8"/55 Mark 71s would be a better choice. Yes, they only have 28 klicks range as compared to 34, and less penetration but they have a much higher rate of fire and can even be used as dual purpose guns. Niels Juel is small, but still heavier than Hull, so should be more stable with the Mark 71s.
I don't know how much you can increase the speed of a ship with her hull form, but if you went with diesel electrics or turbo electrics driving azipods she would be a lot nimbler.
