That's that, I suppose. Ventus is finally up, and well ahead of schedule, so Van's character arc is pretty much over. And really, from here, it's all uphill. Xehanort would be forced to unbench Vexen to fill Vanitas' slot (because of course Demyx gets picked last for any team), which means Demyx would still be free to deliver empty Replicas to the people who really need them, so everything's still on track. In fact, everything would just plain go *better* this time around, because Sora's not starting from a stance of "I'm useless". That, and he can get some actual tips and tricks from a veteran Keyblade Master. Barrier Guard, anyone?

So there's no real reason to push forward with mapping every little detail; your other fics need the attention more.

And who knows; starting a new journey may not be so hard - or maybe it's already begun!

Well, it's a shame you decided to end this, given how this was my favorite, but I guess you had your reasons. Given how much I've liked Cast a Shadow, every additional chapter of this fic felt like a sweet bonus to me. I'll stick around and look forward to possibly more VanAqua.

I read the first story in this series a long while ago and didn't know there were sequels. I'm glad I found them now, as the first fic was high on my favorites. I can't wait to see what you do next with this story :D

We'll see how Van likes cooking when the eggs are stuck to the ceiling, his face is covered in soot, and he nearly takes a finger off with the knife. Not sure how he could injure himself with the salt and pepper shakers, but he's VANITAS. He'd find a way.

Or it might turn out that Van is an awesome chef once he gets a little seasoning (heh), while Ventus is the one who can't cook anything but fireballs.

Either way, I look forward to more!
