You should think of making some alterations to this chapter. In Westeros there is the custom of guest rights, where by taking the bread and salt, your status as a guest means you can't offend or harm the host, and the same way aroud. It is such a respected custom in Westeros that they don't take the weapons of the guest away, I imagine with how rare valyrian steel is, lords would be wary to part with them and have it stolen. If memory doesn't fail me, when Jon and Daenerys met there was strangement between them because she took his weapon away. It wouldn't change much, if any of the plot, just fit better in the universe.
