Hi, I’m leaving this review as a guest one so that you can delete it if you want to. I don’t know your cultural background, so please just read what I have to say with an open mind. (It’s just something that was weighing on me as I was reading the story.)

I understand that Voldemort is the most powerful wizard alive, but that doesn’t explain why China and Korea (N/S) would need a person from a different country, especially a Western one, stepping in to help them, especially one which is not their neighbour. If Singapore were the country mediating, it would make sense. A country from the area, which has mutually beneficial relationships with both countries, which understands the customs and traditions of the two countries.

All I could think of, as I read about that part, was, ‘white saviour complex’ — where a white man has to step in to save two Asian countries from themselves. As an Asian myself, living in a country which was colonised by white people in the past, I can assure you that the sentiments of Asians on this matter are pretty solid.

I love that you’ve used actual Chinese and Korean dynasties correctly (JKR messed up with Cho Chang’s name, FYI) but it still doesn’t take away this pit I feel in my stomach, which says ‘thank you very much, we don’t need an Englishman sorting out our issues. If anything, we’d ask the Dalai Lama’.

This was probably unintentional on your part, but as an Asian reading this, I just felt a bit upset. Voldemort stepping in for tensions between two European countries, or maybe between US and say, France would sit well. Maybe no other Asian reading this felt that way. Maybe many others did, I don’t know. I just felt I needed to speak out about something that was uncomfortable to me.

This is not a flame, I love your writing and I popped by to see if grandloves had been updated — it’s my most fave fHP/LV fic on this site.

I just wanted to share my thoughts with you. I know it’s a fluffy venture, but it wasn’t so for me and I wanted to share that. I logged in as a guest so that you can delete this if you want to.

Like gosh, it's just so perfectly written! Voldemort's not the type to like children, yes, that's a given, but the way this story just grew from him not really liking kids to having an attachment to Saiph, WOW that was like so real and beautiful and I'm in total awe and I've taken so many screenshots so that I can reread the super cute scenes anywhere and anytime while trying NOT to die of the sweetness to it!
