The story was jam packed with nonsense and drama added for drama's sake, but I was enjoying reading it. I really just don't think I can continue after this chapter, though. I mean, Jesus, how hard is it to say, "I'm going to Smallville, Kansas!" So she knows where to find him when she has her birthday and is free. Hell, in all these months they haven't even exchanged basic contact info? Lois does have a burner phone, after all.

And, hell, Clark for that matter saying no to living off base where he can be with Lois for a few months until she turns 18 because he just -has- to immediately run back to the home he has already abandoned for months, because reasons... Hell, even if he couldn't stay he could have gone with them to know where the base was to keep an eye on Lois before he left. I know he can be pretty dense at times in the show, but he isn't an idiot, man.

Plus, you seem to have all these characters that "love and cherish" Lois so much... But, they know she has a shit life on base, see her finally happy, and can't help but immediately betray her because of vague reasons and complete failures of logical reasoning.

You are really just dragging this out to drag it out at this point. If you ever do a rewrite, then this is the point where you need to just scrap things and go with the AU. It would be much more interesting to have Lois heading back to Smallville in a passionate relationship with Clark at this point and watch everything snowball and change from that point forward

Was going to read this but realized we basically just spent 7 chapters with Clois waiting for a tow truck after they met. 483K words? From what I've read so far I'm willing to bet half of those are unnecessary and redundant. I'm all for dialog and narrative and character development, but sometimes you just need to move the story along.

Right then, thanks for writing was entertaining so far. Went from Preggers to 3 years later... so for anyone who thinks that Kal'el aka Superman will be happy that he missed years of his son growing up whenever the hell he returns... I pity you. This would destroy his outlook on his destiny. This will drown him in so much guilt that he'd never go out to help anyone ever again. I just... Good luck in whatever you write in the future.

Pretty much copied the worst part of Smallville into this story. News Flash: Kal never had some special destiny. His real parents might have wanted him to be earths savior but in truth he is nothing but a boy born on Krypton who was sent to earth for his safety. The power 'Smallville' gave to Jor'el makes equally no sense, he is at best nothing but an advanced AI, and after Martha lost the baby red Kryptonite Kal should have thrashed whatever remained of the computer matrix, because that thing was the only thing tying him down.
You have somehow managed to make all that was bad in the original even worse by having this emotionless machine convince his son that right now is the best time to start his training. And Clark just accepts all that and moves along for plot convience apparently momentarily forgetting about his promises to Lois and the threat she is facing right now.
Two great main characters, well written interaction, soured by all the non fluff because most other character actions are downright retarded. And now she is pregnant and what? My money is on no one telling Mr. I have a destiny because he can't be reached.

I've enjoyed the story until the last few chapters. So we are completely going to ignore the fact, that General Lane is holding his 18 year daughter hostage at the military base. Against her will. And no one says anything? There are laws, and he has for all intents and purposes imprisoned her. It doesn't matter what sort of Star General he is, he still has to abide fucking law.

just finished binge-reading the whole story. It was amazing. the highs and lows were tear-jerking. great job!

So, I don't usually do this, but I really like this story, I love it actually, but there are some parts of this chapter that I don't particulary enjoy. For example, why are they saying that they'll never see each other again? She's seventeen at this point, right? So that means that once she's an adult, it doesn't really matter what her father wants or says, she can do whatever she wants, that includes dating Clark. Also, it was mentioned in the story a few chapters back that she only had to keep running away until she was 18. Other than that, I find it hard to believe Lois never, ever, goes out of the army base, she could meet Clark once or twice a year at least. That's kind of what bothered me in this chapter, there's nothing wrong with being a little dramatic from time to time, but they're being way overdramatic acting like they're never going to see each other again. Anyways, other than that this story has been wonderful till now and I'm really loving it. I'm gonna shut up and keep reading now because I want to know what's going to happen. Congrats!
