GlitchWarrior chapter 131 . 8/21
You know, when I first read this I didn't expect you to go into a full-fledged Grimm Ecipse arc. Good on you! (And I still have ninety chapters to go...)
Maldevinine chapter 221 . 8/20
The other one who would be known to General Ironwood who could be sent is Qrow, but it doesn't yet seem that Qrow is functional. On the upside, that means that at some point there will be a surprise Qrow in the middle of a fight.

And of course, this is now building directly towards the next major confrontation. The party is about to be reunited.
GlitchWarrior chapter 122 . 8/20
Ah, geez. Why is every relative in this story so far who ISN'T named Taiyang so stubborn?
GlitchWarrior chapter 104 . 8/18
I have to retract my previous statement regarding Japeth. Sure he's a perfectionist, but he's better than I'd assumed.
GlitchWarrior chapter 102 . 8/18
Oh.
My.
Goodness.

This may sound harsh, but I think Japeth should be held alongside Marcus and Jacques in terms of "You are a terrible father." Thank the gods that canon gave us Pietro instead of someone like him.
Leaf Ranger chapter 177 . 8/16
So he grimm are attacking while the White Fang want to blow up this symbol of peace between the kingdoms.

I really gotta say...the White Fang in general are just idiots. 'Yes, lets cause as much death and mayhem and negative feelings as possible in a world with monsters that are attracted by negative feelings that want to kill all of us'.

anyways, the fight between pyrrha and penny was insane. Well done! Really awesome! And Penny's semblance...was that eventually canon? I admittedly never watched past Season 2 and only know parts of Season 3 (first was busy with stuff and then gave up when they killed Pyrrha). It was still really cool.
Leaf Ranger chapter 176 . 8/16
So first off...I want to apologize...I have mostly left a lot of angry reviews, and I'm sorry for I have come across as a rather horrible person, and I apologize for that, as I have been rather rude.

This is a really well done fanfic, and for the most part I am greatly enjoying it. It is simply how...some characters react that ends up drawing my attention more.

For this chapter, I think the fight was well done, I really enjoyed imagining it. I'll admit I was a bit sad not to see the fight with Sun, but at the same time, I look forward to the next fight.

whatever is about to happen next should be excited, and I hope that whatever Ilia has done can be overcome and beaten. Guess we'll see.
Leaf Ranger chapter 175 . 8/16
...see, this is what I honestly don't get. Why is it so many people in this fnafic have such a shortsighed, narrow view of things?

the story of the evacuation of Appleloosa there. it was great, but saying it was a victory, saying that sort of thing is what they should look to as an example, honestly makes no damn sense in my mind considering the situation they are in. they are in a war of attrition where the enemy has a seemingly inexhaustible number of soldiers, and they have limited, but mostly superior, soldiers on their side. Each person who can fight is worth their weight in gold. I'm not saying that means they are more valuable then the civilians, but this idea that they all need to die rather then let a single civilian get hurt is counter productive to the actual war effort. It would be better to ensure that they can somehow come out witht he most soldiers and equipment intact to be able to continue the long game. Because the more soldiers who die in the now, the more huntsmen who die now, the fewer there are to defend the borders later on. meaning yeah, you saved a village now...but you've lost a bunch of soldiers and fighters in the process. And in so doing, now down the line you've got less soldiers to defend a bigger area, meaning a larger population is at risk, meaning those people are more likely to die.

In this kind of war...you need soldiers who are willing to die...but they also need to be willing to pull back and live, so that they can fight another day in a battle that could be even more important then the one that they're in now. Sometimes, that means some civilians can't be saved. But when you've got a war like this...that's what you need to do in order to make sure that the line can hold where it needs to most. *shakes head* Loosing that many soldiers and military equipment for a single village doesn't seem like a victory to me when the enemy can simply replenish their numbers in matter of days and you have to take months or years to do the same...and you already had a numerical disadvantage as is.
Maldevinine chapter 219 . 8/15
Now that was some masterful politicking by Pyrrha there. And I do understand what Yang is doing. Not that I'm the hard one to convince, that will be Ruby.
IcyLily chapter 83 . 8/14
Fluttershy apparently doesn't know about cats. They do hunt for fun, play with and kill rodents and other animals and then still not eating them. httpsicatcare
Leaf Ranger chapter 174 . 8/14
...fuck you Ruby. Fuck you. I'm sorry, but that's all I can say, is fuck you Ruby. Fuck you for basically abandoning someone, insulting them, stabbing them in the back, for essentially saving your sorry ungrateful life and managing to keep the city safe as well. Fuck you for proving you're not worthy of the friendship she was willing to eventually learn about and give you. Fuck you RTuby for proving you don't deserve a single fucking friend in the world if you are willing to drop them like this because they made a decision that was incredibly hard for them. Fuck you Ruby for judging somebody without having to make the damnd ecision yourself.

I'm sorry...I really enjoy your fanfic, I'm going to keep reading, there is so much about this fanfic I really enjoy, but every time...ever ytime you focus on ruby, I want to tear my damn hair out because she is just such a naïve, stupid, judgmental piece of crap. Thinking Sunset can't be a huntress because she's not willing to die, because she's willing to take a chance and get a better outcome, just shows how shortsighted and stupid Ruby here is. Let me tell oyu, if I was in remnant, I wouldn't want someone like ruby protecting me, because she'd be the type who would get as many hunters and huntresses as possible killed, and then we'd be left without a single defender to defend us. Great job Ruby, you'd really protect us for maybe a week or two, and then you and everyone with you would be dead and we'd have no defenses against the Grimm and we'd all be dead. Congratulations. *Sarcastic clapping*
Leaf Ranger chapter 170 . 8/14
Yeah..hey Ruby? how about you shut up until you're put into the same position Sunset is in, and then you can sit there and judge them all you want. When its you who has to decide whether your friends live or die, then you can sit on judgment over someone else making that call.

Who am I kidding, you'd have killed them anyways. All for the 'greater good', right?

I'm sorry, but this Ruby...she just does push my buttons, in all the wrong ways.
Leaf Ranger chapter 169 . 8/14
I'm sorry if this will sound harsh, but I really need to say it because...because...this...this is what I hate about how Ruby has been portrayed here. She thinks of nothing except how willing she is to die for the cause. That's all that matters to her. It isn't about fighting and living for her, it's about how 'noble' and 'selfless' it is to fight these monsters and die so someone else doesn't have to.

And you know what? If it is just you out there, fighting and dying? That's fine. that is your choice, in that moment. But Ruby's mindset would have her happily sacrificing everyone else with her if it meant protect someone else. She'd take away that choice from them. Because as far as she's concerned, them being hunstmen means they already made the choice. Except they didn't. And that is what is wrong with this Ruby. She blindly trusts a man who not only refuses to give full trust back to those he asks to trust him, but got her mother killed with the same BS he's feeding them now, and she would willingly sacrifice others for the 'greater good', as well as herself, without even a thought at all.

yes...the lives of eight people don't outweigh a thousand lives. But that doesn't mean that those eight lives don't have value. And that doesn't mean that one person amongst them should be allowed to make a choice that gets them all killed. Yes, Sunset is also wrong for taking away their choice as well, but at least her choice still GAVE them options and choices. Ruby's choice, if it had been her, would take away their choices and options. Ruby honestly needs to grow up out of this childish ideal she has about 'heroism'. You know what a real hero does? A real hero doesn't rush blindly to death, uncaring of anything at all except 'the greater good'. A real hero does their best to save the day AND SURVIVE. They only give in to death when there is no option left at all. Especially in the situation they're in now, where every huntsmen and huntress is needed to fight the grimm. to paraphrase a certain famous general, "your job isn't to die gloriously for your country. It's to make the other bastard die gloriously for his."

Honestly, this Ruby really needs to grow up, before she gets a lot of good people killed for a childish and naïve belief in what a huntsmen should be willing to do.

The Jaune who first came to Beacon would have never stood up to Turnus.
